Since New Japan had short notice about Shinsuke Nakamura leaving the country to become a star with WWE, they were not able to book a bigger venue for his final match with the promotion. After 13 years of being a star there, there was a high demand from fans that wanted to say goodbye to Nakamura. That meant that scalpers were charging a whole lot more than the face value. Shinsuke signed a two year deal with World Wrestling Entertainment.

The former world heavyweight champion attempted to gain his release from WWE so that he can go wrestle on the independent wrestling circuit. However, Vince McMahon refused to let him out of his contract, which is similar to the situation that Rey Mysterio was stuck in not too long ago.

After a very rough year, Axl Rotten has passed away. WWE themselves have confirmed that the ECW legend is dead. Back issues, among other things, have forced Rotten to be in and out of the hospital. Since he exhausted all of his funds while not being able to work, Axl asked for help from fans to pay his medical bills. Chris Jericho was one of the first people to send some money towards Rotten. He was 44 years old.
