WWE Raw Results - July 23, 2007

The night after a pay per view is usually a good night to watch Monday Night Raw since that's when most of the new storylines begin.

Randy Orton T-Shirt

New Storylines Randy Orton is now the new challenger for John Cena's WWE Heavyweight Championship. His feud with Cody Rhodes and Dusty Rhodes appears to be over for the time being. Not entirely sure if it'll end up as a feud, but Carlito and Bobby Lashley were involved in a program together tonight. It'd be nice if they did start a short feud. It would allow Bobby Lashley to get a win, while Carlito gets elevated by being involved in a high profile feud. Another Loss For Kennedy Ken Kennedy suffers yet another loss. This time, he loses to Jeff Hardy. Combine this loss with a loss to Super Crazy, and you have to wonder why on earth he was moved from Smackdown. If Ken Kennedy was on Smackdown right now, he'd be main eventing, especially after the recent injury to Edge. Still Waiting On Triple H We still have a little bit of time before Triple H comes back, so the writers are cleverly stalling by having King Booker challenge Jerry "the King" Lawler to a match on next week's Raw.

End of the Rhodes

With Dusty Rhodes being carted out in an ambulance and Cody Rhodes being clearly overmatched against Randy Orton, we could be seeing the last of the Rhodes for the time being.

Dusty Rhodes goes back to being a writer for the ECW brand, which right now sounds like the easiest job in the world since there's only one storyline on the brand.

Cody Rhodes may possibly head back down to OVW for further developing.

Conclusion

Not too bad of a show, especially since a few new storylines were introduced, but it could have easily been so much better had the writers developed the undercard for the night.

A King's Challenge

In an attempt to stall until Triple H returns on August 13th, King Booker has challenged Jerry "the King" Lawler to a match next week on Monday Night Raw.

Carlito & William Regal defeated Sandman & Jim Duggan

Awful match. The writers need to just end this program right now. Maybe just have William Regal feud with the Sandman.

Having John Cena defeat three of the brand's champion all in one match makes him look good, but it doesn't do much for the other three guys.

The tag team titles need to be with one of these two teams so they can have a reason to feud. These guys have potential to steal the show.

Jeff Hardy defeated Ken Kennedy

Sure wished we knew what the writers were thinking when they decided to move Ken Kennedy over to Raw because they have done nothing with him.

After Carlito spit an apple accidentally at him, Bobby Lashley assaults Carlito after chasing him to the ring. Hopefully, this is a start of a fresh new feud.

Maria & Micke defeated Melina & Beth

This match was basically done to set up something with Santino Marella. He interfered in the match from the commentating booth.

This might have been the end of the feud between these two as both Rhodes were beaten severely by Randy Orton. One of the best Orton matches to date.
