WWE One Night Stand 2007
One Night Stand came and went last night. The familiar scene of John Cena toppling yet another challenger finished off the show.
The champion spent much of the match on the defensive. That was expected because the writers had to cover up the Great Khali's lack of wrestling fundamentals. As expected, the action moved all over the arena.
The writers spent much of the past week trying to drill home the point that Cena wasn't going to be able to put the challenger into his FU finisher. They even went so far as to have the Great Khali dominating Cena at Saturday Night's Main Event. During the title match, they even teased things by having Cena fail with his finisher on the arena.
The finish came when both wrestlers climbed up on a crane. Cena manages to nail the FU finisher off the crane and onto the floor.
As expected, Cena retains the title and hopefully moves on to another challenger after the WWE Draft Lottery.

World Heavyweight Championship
Edge defeated Batista
The cage match for the World Heavyweight Championship was backed by a solid storyline where Edge was intidimated by his opponent. The finish came when Edge scaled the cage wall and dropped to the floor first as Batista was crawling through the cage door.

Chocolate Pudding Match
Candice Michelle defeated Melina
Matches like these are basically why Vince McMahon keeps the divas around. It was a fun little match that allowed fans inside the arena to go use the bathroom and buy more snacks. Candice wins by shoving Melina's head into the pudding, causing her to tap out.

ECW Heavyweight Championship
Bobby Lashley defeated Vince McMahon
In what is hopefully the finale of the program between Vince McMahon and Bobby Lashley, the ECW heavyweight title gets switched back. Despite interference from Shane McMahon and Umaga, Lashley was able to come through and win the title back.

Lumberjack Match
Mark Henry defeated Kane
Kane fought off interference from Chavo Guerrero and Kenny Dykstra, but that wasn't enough. Mark Henry was able to lock Kane into a bear hug. Kane passes out from the move. Look for the WWE to further Henry's push with another victory next month.

WWE Tag Team Championship
Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy defeated Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin
This was a dream match for fans. The Hardys get the win after Jeff Hardy nails the Swanton Bomb on Charlie Haas while Matt Hardy climbed the ladder to grab the belts. It looks like this feud will continue because the two teams get into a brawl in the locker room.

Tables Match
Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, CM Punk defeated Elijah Burke, Matt Stryker, and Marcus Cor Von
The writers wanted to continue the storyline between CM Punk and Elijah Burke, but they didn't want to have it make too much progress, so this match was booked. The good guys get the win with a pretty creative spot.

Stretcher Match
Rob Van Dam defeated Randy Orton
The only true surprise of the night was when Rob Van Dam defeated Randy Orton in a stretcher match. After the match, though, Orton "injured" RVD again, which would allow them to write RVD out of the storyline.

Maria Joins In
For the benefits of the male audience, Maria decides to get involved in the pool of pudding after the match has officially ended. It still makes us laugh that so many people believed that the WWE's decision to make the divas more "classy" was going to last.
