For years, Bill DeMott and Billy Gunn were staples of the developmental program in WWE. DeMott was fired after a major controversy. Well, now Gunn is following him out the door. Management was forced to fire Gunn after finding out that he was taking performance enhancing drugs for his power lifting career that he was doing on the side. The front office stated that they had no idea he was even doing that.

This has been an extremely tough year for Bill DeMott. Back in March, he lost his job as the head trainer of WWE due to allegations of racism. Now, he is dealing with something much worse. His 20 year old daughter was killed when another driver veered into her lane and crashed head on into her vehicle. She passed away at the scene, while the other driver is fighting for his life at the hospital.

When Bill DeMott was fired as the head trainer, Matt Bloom took over. WWE has been impressed thus far with what they have seen. However, his true evaluation will not come anytime soon. The current group of guys that have been elevated to the main roster, they are accredited to DeMott since he was in charge. Bloom's skills as a trainer will be determined by the next generation of NXT stars who get promoted to the main roster.

While controversy does create cash, the belief is that Bill DeMott will choose the safe route more frequently when it comes to picking guests for his upcoming weekly podcast interview show. The former head trainer in WWE will most likely go with performers who have publicly and privately backed him up against the abuse allegations. Doing that would help repair his reputation a little bit.

A name that he should consider signing up is Ivelisse Velez, who happened to be one of the first developmental wrestlers to report DeMott to WWE. That would generate quite the interest for the new show.

He stated that he was not trying to break his students. DeMott felt that he was doing his job by trying to prepare the students for what they would be facing when they make it to WWE.

When the controversial Bill DeMott was forced to resign from WWE, management gave Matt Bloom a chance and promoted him from Assistant Head Coach to Interim Head Coach of NXT. Well, after several weeks, he has proven to the front office that he is the man to lead the next generation of stars. Bloom has now been officially promoted to Head Coach. The company cited his years of experience in the business as a major asset for developmental.

DeMott hinted that he was instructed by management to do what he was accused of doing. He could not go into too much details, as it was clearly obvious that he was trying to avoid getting into a legal battle with the company.
