To further increase their reach in Japan, WWE signs Io Shirai. She is one of the top female performers from that country. Shirai will more than likely finish up whatever commitments that she has remaining overseas. Afterwards, she should be heading to the United States to begin training. More than likely, Io will start working out at the Performance Center. Once she figures out how World Wrestling Entertainment wants things from their performers, she should make her NXT debut shortly. The company already has Asuka on the developmental brand. They also recently signed Kairi Hojo and is bringing her to the US soon.
