Sheamus injures arm

Since he was spotted wearing a cast over his arm, the internet wrestling community was quite curious as to how Sheamus was doing. Reports have now surfaced that the cast was simply a precaution. The former world heavyweight champion is dealing with tendon issues in one of his arms. WWE still has plans on using him on television, but he's not going to be very active because they don't want to risk not having him at Wrestlemania.

Rosa Mendes not fired

As some of you may already know, Rosa Mendes has been away from Monday Night Raw because she is currently pregnant. She recently noted that she was the first pregnant diva that WWE has employed. Many backstage believe that Rosa would have been released from her contract had Total Divas not been in existence. World Wrestling Entertainment felt that her pregnancy would be good for their reality television show.

When asked during a recent interview about his future in professional wrestling, Shawn Hernandez opted to divert attention to the fact that he is currently filming movies and television shows. The former TNA star also stated that he was not legally allowed to discuss the ugly contract situation that he and Lucha Underground were involved in last year. All that Hernandez could confirm was that the two sides are no longer working together.

Kenny Omega bashes imitators

When asked during a recent interview about wrestlers imitating the Bullet Club shirts, Kenny Omega went on a little tangent. The New Japan star stated that it was cheesy for a wrestling shirt to parody another wrestling shirt. Omega stated that it would be find if they parodying a movie or television show. Kenny also stated that the imitators probably have no creativity or are unable to sell shirts on their own without copying.

Impact Wrestling draws more

Whenever a television show moves from one television network to another, there is usually a drop in viewership because not everyone remembers the change or knows how to find the new channel. Dixie Carter has to be pleased because Impact Wrestling drew in more viewers on their POP TV debut than they did during their final televised episode on Destination America.

Billy Gunn wins MCW TV title

When Chyna mysteriously backed out of Season's Beatings, Maryland Championship Wrestling rushed to find a replacement. Billy Gunn was willing to drop everything during the holidays to make it up there for the show. As a reward, the former WWE star was allowed to win the MCW Television Championship. Not sure how long he will be holding the belt, though, as he is not a regular there.

Joey Ryan to Lucha Underground

Since his name value has increased tremendously over the past year, a lot of wrestling promotions want a piece of Joey Ryan. Wanting to ensure their survival, Lucha Underground has decided to pick up bigger names, as evident by their signing of former WWE star Rey Mysterio. The promotion has also decided to pick up Ryan as well. He worked the first set of television taping over the weekend.

UFC looking for CM Punk opponent

Just to give you an idea of how much name value CM Punk carries outside of professional wrestling, Dana White has revealed that he will be using a television series to find an opponent for when Punk makes his official UFC debut. White feels that Punk is so much of a draw that it makes sense for his company to put additional resources into everything that he is involved with.

John Cena drawing new audience

One of the big reasons why John Cena is branching out away from WWE is because he wants to draw in new fans to professional wrestling. He feels that he has already drawn in as much of an audience as possible through traditional methods. Cena now wants to draw in fans by doing movies and television shows. The former world heavyweight champion still has no plans of leaving permanently.

Impact Wrestling taping again

Now that they have secured a new television deal with POP TV, TNA officials have put plans in place to start filming more episodes of Impact Wrestling. Management has officially announced that Bethlehem, Pennsylvania will be the location for their new filming. The shows will take place in the beginning of January, so Dixie Carter is more than likely going to sign more performers before then.
