AJ Styles has backstage heat

Even though he has only been with WWE for less than a month, AJ Styles has already picked up some backstage heat. Even worse, the heat is with Vince McMahon himself. The CEO is upset with Styles because he signed a deal with a toy company prior to signing his contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. This is the same company that signed Kevin Owens back when he was receiving his big push against John Cena last year.

When asked about the four New Japan stars heading to WWE, Kevin Owens stated that he was most excited about wrestling against Shinsuke Nakamura. The two of them have wrestled one another once before. Always the heel, Owens made sure to mention that he was better than Nakamura, AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows. The fact that he addressed the signings adds even more credibility to the rumors.

For years, the internet wrestling community has bashed TNA for signing former WWE stars. Through an interview with the Associated Press, Dixie Carter noted that the roles have now been reversed, as World Wrestling Entertainment has been seeking out her performers now. Samoa Joe and James Storm, who came back to Impact Wrestling this week, are two recent examples.

The odds of that happening are increasing since Bryan is growing frustrated with being on the sidelines. He has publicly mentioned that he is willing to go outside of World Wrestling Entertainment if he needs to because he wants badly to wrestle again.

Wanting to ensure their survival, Lucha Underground has decided to pick up bigger names, as evident by their signing of former WWE star Rey Mysterio. The promotion has also decided to pick up Ryan as well. He worked the first set of television taping over the weekend.

Rumors about Jim Ross signing with TNA have been floating around since the legendary commentator was released by WWE. For whatever reasons, they heated up again this week. Ross felt compelled to address the issue via social media. He stated that the rumors were not true. Ross also added that Impact Wrestling already has a great announcing team so he is really not needed.

The 35 year old veteran has mentioned before that he would love to see if he can become a big star in the United States. New Japan has steadfastly been claiming that they are not worried about World Wrestling Entertainment stealing all of their top stars because they feel confident they can keep them around.

Earlier in the year, Maria Kanellis told fans through social media that she was interested in a potential return to WWE. No word yet on whether or not the company is interested. However, there are reports that World Wrestling Entertainment is interested in signing her husband, Mike Bennett, and bringing him in with Matt Taven as a tag team. The two of them have increased their name value with successful stints in New Japan.

Through social media, the Young Bucks revealed to fans that they have signed a new contract. Of course, to make things fun, the brothers did not bother to reveal which promotion that they are signing with. Instead, they listed out Lucha Underground, WWE, ROH, TNA and New Japan. The belief is that the popular tandem has not signed with World Wrestling Entertainment because they have backstage heat there.

Despite being embroiled in a bit of a controversy with a fan at an independent wrestling show, there appears to be some interest from WWE towards Gunner. The former TNA star stated that it was his dream to work in the biggest wrestling promotion in the world and that there are some talks going on between the two sides. However, he stopped at confirming that they were anywhere close to signing a developmental contract.
