TNA recently filmed a segment for Impact Wrestling that featured Matt Hardy dressed up as Bigfoot. Much of the internet wrestling community was quick to criticize the promotion for doing something that outlandish. Well, it turns out that Destination America was the one that requested the segment to be done so they could use it to promote another show on the network.

Jim Cornette on ROH

In a rather interesting bit of news, Jim Cornette is claiming that ROH is not being paid by Destination America, which recently picked up their second professional wrestling promotion. He is insinuating that the company was forced to take the deal because they wanted to be available in every state, which was not the case when they were simply being aired on the Sinclair syndicate.

MVP leaves TNA

Even though he has long known as someone that likes to surprise the internet wrestling community, there is a widespread belief that MVP has left TNA after the former United States Heavyweight Champion posted a couple of messages on social media. There is a chance that he could be taking some time away from the promotion before making a comeback later on in the year.

New Japan going international

For a couple of decades now, New Japan has been one of the most well known wrestling promotion in the world. Management is trying to increase their popularity by doing an international expansion. The company is going to send their top stars, such as Hiroshi Tanahashi, more frequently to the United States. They already have deals in place with GFW, ROH, NWA and a couple of other small promotions.

Morrison and Rollins heat

During a recent podcast interview to promote Battleground, Seth Rollins decided to fire back at John Morrison, who feels that he is superior to the current WWE champion. Rollins stated that he has accomplished a lot more during his three year career with World Wrestling Entertainment than Morrison did during his entire stint with the promotion.

TNA buying footage

Since they already spent the money and effort to film the segments, TNA officials have reportedly attempted to try to make a deal with Lucha Underground to let them use footage of Shawn Hernandez on upcoming episodes of Impact Wrestling. The latter company is said to be very much against the idea because they feel that Hernandez is still a part of their promotion.

A post on YouTube where GFW ponders if Justin Gabriel can become the face of their promotion. In discussing the possibility, the high flyer takes a little jab at his previous employer by stating that you sometimes need to give performers a chance to prove what they can do. Gabriel feels that he will be given that chance with Global Force Wrestling.

TNA release Hernandez

When TNA decided to bring Shawn Hernandez back into the company, they asked him if he was contractually free from Lucha Underground. He insisted that he was, but that turned to not be true. Dixie Carter was contacted about the issue. To avoid a potential lawsuit, she decided to release Hernandez from the promotion and remove filmed footage from upcoming episodes of Impact Wrestling.

GFW divisions

More details have surfaced about GFW. Jeff Jarrett revealed that his new promotion will consists of four divisions. The heavyweight division and tag team division was expected. Jarrett also announced that he would have a division specifically for females, knowing how well that worked for him in the past. Global Force Wrestling will also have a NEX*GEN division.

A post on Instagram where Taka Michinoku shows us the Kaientai dojo, which is still doing business in Japan. The former WWE star founded the training facility and wrestling promotion back in 2002.
