Back when he was a free agent, Alberto Del Rio was fielding offers from several companies. One of those companies was UFC. The promotion really wanted the former world heavyweight champion to come in and do a couple of fights. However, Del Rio was forced to reject their offer because the two sides could not come to terms on money. He stated that he was doing so well in professional wrestling that it would be a pay cut to jump to MMA.

Chael Sonnen is a good talker, loves professional wrestling and has name value from his career in UFC. Those three reasons are why expressed interest in signing him to a contract. However, the former MMA star has opted to join GFW instead. The announcement was made this morning that Sonnen would be joining the company and serving as an analyst. This deal has led to speculations that Global Force Wrestling is close to a television deal.

Ask any UFC fan, and they will more than likely have nothing but kind things to say about the legendary Georges St Pierre. After all, he was one of the biggest draws in MMA for a reason. He is now expressing interest in professional wrestling. GSP revealed to fans at a convention that he is definitely interested in making an appearance in WWE, something similar to what Ronda Rousey did at Wrestlemania. Management should be calling soon.

An MMA reported stated through social media that Rampage Jackson lost his desire to do professional wrestling because of the way that TNA handled his career. In response, a representative from the company pointed out the special treatment that the former UFC star was given. The front office paid for a private jet, and they also provided accommodations to his entourage. It is also being said that Jackson was afraid of taking bumps.

When asked if he was open to a career in professional wrestling, Cain Velasquez said that it would be something that he might consider down the line. Right now, he is focused on his career in UFC. If Velasquez does choose to make the jump after retiring from MMA, the belief is that WWE would definitely be interested in someone with his level of name value. He has fought Brock Lesnar before, so that match would be a possibility.

For a small period of time there, promoters really wanted to put together an MMA match between Bobby Lashley and Batista because they felt that they would be able to draw in a bit of interest from professional wrestling fans. That possibility is said to be completely off the table now. While Lashley is still involved in the sport, his counterpart has moved on and is now focused primarily on his burgeoning career in Hollywood.

Fans of MMA have long ridiculed professional wrestling fans by repeatedly reminding them that they are watching a fake sport. Ironically enough, though, the UFC fighters themselves are fans of WWE. Several of them were spotted sitting in the audience at Levi Stadium during Wrestlemania. Some names mentioned were Chael Sonnen, Daniel Cormier, Jessamyn Duke, Nate Diaz, Gilbert Melendez, Shayna Baszler and Marina Shaffir.

Since his injury is taking longer to heal than initially expected, there is a chance that Santino Marella might never be able to make his in ring return to WWE. Fortunately, though, he planned ahead. Marella has a couple of outside business interest, including a reality television show that is being worked on. His wrestling and MMA school is slated to be the premise of the series. The Fight Network will be the ones to air the unnamed show.

You can rule out at least one potential second generation wrestler joining WWE. Goldberg told TMZ during an interview that he would never allow his son to work for the company. He stated that he purchase a wrestling promotion and have his son work there than to ever allow him to work in a company ran by Vince McMahon and Triple H. Irregardless, though, it appears that the 8 year old boy is leaning more towards an MMA career.

Kurt Angle revealed an interesting detail about his contract during a recent interview with the MMA Hour. He stated that he was only required to work 40 dates a year for TNA. Since the company tapes approximately 50 episodes of Impact Wrestling each year, that means that the former world heavyweight champion is not actually required to work house shows. Angle could opt to do some of them if he wishes, however.
