However, he still wanted a way to be involved in the sport. Del Rio has found that way. The former world heavyweight champion has signed on to work as an announcer for a promotion in Mexico.

Cyrus Fees will be joining Chael Sonnen. His background as an announcer is in MMA, so it will be quite interesting to see how he does in professional wrestling.

During a recent interview, Bobby Lashley stated that a lot of professional wrestling fans are going to be mad when CM Punk makes his UFC debut and actually wins the fight. A lot of WWE fans are still upset with Punk for leaving, so they are being petty by rooting against him doing well in MMA. Lashley is well aware of this, so he is not afraid to speak out.

The promotion really wanted the former world heavyweight champion to come in and do a couple of fights. However, Del Rio was forced to reject their offer because the two sides could not come to terms on money. However, the former MMA star has opted to join GFW instead. The announcement was made this morning that Sonnen would be joining the company and serving as an analyst. This deal has led to speculations that Global Force Wrestling is close to a television deal.

GSP revealed to fans at a convention that he is definitely interested in making an appearance in WWE, something similar to what Ronda Rousey did at Wrestlemania. Management should be calling soon.

In response, a representative from the company pointed out the special treatment that the former UFC star was given. The front office paid for a private jet, and they also provided accommodations to his entourage. It is also being said that Jackson was afraid of taking bumps.

When asked if he was open to a career in professional wrestling, Cain Velasquez said that it would be something that he might consider down the line. Right now, he is focused on his career in UFC. If Velasquez does choose to make the jump after retiring from MMA, the belief is that WWE would definitely be interested in someone with his level of name value. He has fought Brock Lesnar before, so that match would be a possibility.

Fans of MMA have long ridiculed professional wrestling fans by repeatedly reminding them that they are watching a fake sport. Ironically enough, though, the UFC fighters themselves are fans of WWE. Several of them were spotted sitting in the audience at Levi Stadium during Wrestlemania. Some names mentioned were Chael Sonnen, Daniel Cormier, Jessamyn Duke, Nate Diaz, Gilbert Melendez, Shayna Baszler and Marina Shaffir.
