Finn Balor

Rhodes compares Balor to Thesz

When it comes to wrestling legends, Lou Thesz is near the top of the list. When a legend like Dusty Rhodes compares you to him, then you are really something special. During a recent interview, Finn Balor revealed that Rhodes believed that WWE was bringing in someone of the caliber of Thesz into his developmental program. It was quite the compliment to Balor.

Mike Bennett

Mike Bennett not signing yet

For a while there, Mike Bennett was hotly rumored to be joining WWE through their developmental program. Things have been quiet on that front recently. The belief is that the silence is due to Bennett himself. He knows that his reputation in the industry is rocketing skywards, so he might wait until he has as much leverage as possible before going into negotiations with World Wrestling Entertainment again.

Brian Kendrick

Eva Marie in NXT

As another sign that she is truly interested in improving as a performer, Eva Marie made an appearance in NXT and stated that she wanted the championship. The belief is that she will spend a couple of months down in the developmental program to gain further training. Eva recently received quite a bit of praise from WWE and the internet wrestling community because she spent time training with Brian Kendrick on her own.

Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe main roster

When it was revealed earlier that Samoa Joe had impressed WWE so much that they offered him a full time contract, the internet wrestling community began to wonder if that meant that he was going to be placed on the main roster immediately. Fans are going to have to wait a couple of months, as management needs the former world heavyweight champion to be the focal point of NXT, as star power on the developmental roster has dwindled a bit.

LeiD Tapa

LeiD Tapa to GFW

When she worked in TNA, LeiD Tapa had a bit of a following because the internet wrestling community found out that she was the nice of the Barbarian. Things didn't work out in the company, so she left to focus on developmental. Now that her skills have improved, LeiD has signed a contract with GFW to help kick start the women's division in the new promotion. She should be one of the female performers that go on tour this summer.

Uhaa Nation

Uhaa Nation being a star

A good portion of the internet wrestling community believes that Uhaa Nation has all the tools to become a major star in WWE. The company, on the other hand, is not as quick to jump the gun. Even though they desperately need another African American star, they are going to take the patient route and see what he can do in developmental first. They know that Nation also still has to prove his mettle when he moves up to NXT.

Cody Hall

Cody Hall stock rising

From early on in his career, Cody Hall became married to the idea that he would not rush to sign with WWE. He wanted to be well traveled and well trained before accepting his destiny in the biggest wrestling promotion in the world. That move has turned out rather well because his stock has been rising pretty rapidly in the industry. Hall could conceivably jump ahead of other performers when he finally joins the developmental program.

Tony Briggs

Tony Briggs released from NXT

The second developmental wrestler to be released by WWE is Tony Briggs, who told his fans through social media on Friday afternoon. He was very thankful of the company and had nothing but nice things to say about those that trained him and helped him. Briggs vowed to make it back to NXT some day, so there is a very good chance that he will pursue his opportunities on the independent wrestling circuit to prove is worth again.

Uhaa Nation

Uhaa Nation to WWE

A new class of developmental wrestlers started working for NXT this week. Among them is Uhaa Nation, the highly touted 27 year old from the independent wrestling circuit. He is expected to be the star of the class. Nation was signed late last year, but he had some things to work out before starting with the company. In a rather interesting note, the majority of the class is international guys that have very limited wrestling experience.

Vader

Vader training

Another name that has popped up as a potential trainer for WWE is Vader. Management feels that he would be a good candidate since he has experienced different styles of wrestling all over the world. The man known as Leon White can also be the tough guy that the developmental wrestlers in NXT need. Things are serious enough to where there was a good amount of chatter during Wrestlemania week about him moving to Florida soon.
