Despite being embroiled in a bit of a controversy with a fan at an independent wrestling show, there appears to be some interest from WWE towards Gunner. The former TNA star stated that it was his dream to work in the biggest wrestling promotion in the world and that there are some talks going on between the two sides. However, he stopped at confirming that they were anywhere close to signing a developmental contract.

During a recent interview, Seth Rollins revealed that Joey Mercury was the person that was responsible for getting him a developmental contract with WWE. The world heavyweight champion also revealed that Mercury was also instrumental in getting a deal done for Dean Ambrose. Your backstage stroke in the company rises tremendously if you are able to find two main event performers from the independent wrestling circuit.

In case you missed Impact Wrestling this week, Ethan Carter fired Jeff Hardy because he refused to obey his command. That has led to speculation within the internet wrestling community that he could be leaving TNA. That is not the case at this moment. The segment was being done to generate interest, which it has, and to set up a big match between Hardy and Carter later on. Hardy is still under contract to Total Nonstop Action.

Kenny King leaves TNA

In a move that doesn't come as a shock to many, Kenny King has apparently left TNA. No details have been revealed, but he showed up at the ROH pay per view this week. His previous contract allowed him to work Impact Wrestling episodes and on independent wrestling shows that are not being televised. Showing up in Ring of Honor is a sign that he is no longer working for Total Nonstop Action.

While nothing has been officially confirmed, there is speculation circulating that TNA has signed a contract extension with Destination America. It is said to be a short term deal, so that the two sides can continue negotiations without having to take Impact Wrestling off the air. The belief is that the network wants a more favorable deal with Dixie Carter because advertisers simply are not biting.

That does not mean that they are completely done with Destination America. Dixie Carter is still negotiating a new deal with the network. However, it is just a smart move to see what other offers are on the table.

Throughout most of this year, the internet wrestling community was under the assumption that Destination America was going to be canceling Impact Wrestling in September. The month is already here, and no announcement has been made by the network. Dixie Carter revealed during a recent interview that TNA is under contract until the end of the years. Negotiations for 2016 are ongoing, she said.

Apparently, there may be some backstage heat between Devon and TNA. While responding to a fan through social media, he asked the person to not use the word impact, which of course is a reference to Impact Wrestling, because it brings up a lot of bad dreams. The angst could be due to the fact that management opted to not bring him back when his contract expired.
