While a lot of WWE fans are overjoyed right now about the Brock Lesnar news, they are about to be brought back down to earth for a bit when they realize that the new contract means that John Cena has a better chance of winning the United States Heavyweight Championship from Rusev at Wrestlemania. Since Lesnar will still be part time, the front office wanted a belt on Cena, so that he can use it to headline live events each week.

As expected, WWE is pushing hard for Brock Lesnar to sign a contract extension before his current deal expires. Management definitely does not want him to hit free agency because that means that a major bidding war will take place. UFC and Bellator are already said to be interested in bringing the former world heavyweight champion back into the world of mixed martial arts. Vince McMahon really wants his champion under a new contract before Wrestlemania.

There are talks going around right now that WWE is hoping to sign Brock Lesnar to a contract extension before his big main event match against Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania. Some are saying that a deal could be finalized at the next episode of Monday Night Raw in Los Angeles. However, there are those that are skeptical about these reports because it would make more sense for Lesnar to negotiate with UFC before signing a deal.

There are talks coming out of WWE right now that if Brock Lesnar were to sign a new contract to remain with the company, then he would be rewarded with a victory over Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania. He would still be allowed to work the limited schedule that he has been on while continuing to carry the heavyweight championship. Management would then put the IC and US belt on Daniel Bryan and John Cena respectively so they can headline live events.

One of the events that Rey Mysterio is scheduled for during Wrestlemania week is a sit down interview. He is bringing along his real life best friend Konnan and former WWE writer Court Bauer. The two of them are not afraid to speak out about things taking place backstage, with the former being highly critical and controversial. The belief is that Mysterio might end up discussing his departure from the company and the ugly contract situation.

Last week, Brock Lesnar and Vince McMahon got into a heated argument backstage during Monday Night Raw. The two sides could not come to an agreement on terms of a new contract. Lesnar walked out and attended a UFC event, something that McMahon was very much against. Sounds like a lot of causes for concern. However, McMahon is said to be fine with things. WWE will continue with their current plans for Lesnar and Wrestlemania.

Sources from within the company are now saying that Brock Lesnar is more receptive to the idea of staying with WWE after his contract expires shortly around Wrestlemania time. Of course, that could just be wishful thinking by those that know that the heavyweight champion is someone that is capable of moving the needle. Dana White is still expected to offer Lesnar a large sum of money to return and be the draw for UFC that he used to be.

For the next few weeks, everything in WWE will revolve around Wrestlemania. That will be the main topic of discussion backstage. However, some will also be talking about Rey Mysterio and his contract situation. His deal is set to expire shortly after the big pay per view, and many are wondering ow management is going to handle the situation this time around. Locker room morale might take a bit of a hit if the masked performer is forced to stay.

Selective verbiage is being used by Dana White and Scott Coker when the topic of Brock Lesnar is brought up to them. Both guys have admitted that they have had discussions with the former world heavyweight champion. However, they also made sure to state that no actual negotiations have taken place. Neither guy wants to face tampering charges from WWE, as Lesnar is still under contract to the promotion until a few days after Wrestlemania.

While there are still a good amount of professional wrestling fans who are critical of the guy, Brock Lesnar is said to be quite professional backstage and a bit unselfish when it comes to how management portrays him. The feeling is that he has no problem with putting someone over during the final stages of his contract with WWE. Management wants to protect his character, though, in case he wants to do another stint in the industry after Wrestlemania.
