While a lot of wrestling fans still clamor for his return to WWE, Shane McMahon has expressed no desire to do so. In fact, he has been avoiding the family business for quite some time now. While everyone involved has been denying the backstage heat rumors, it speaks volume that McMahon doesn't even bother to attend Wrestlemania any more. That is the biggest event of the year, and one would expect him to at least be in attendance.

Word going around right now is that AJ Lee knew that she was going to be retiring after Wrestlemania but she opted to keep that a secret from the front office. Had she done that, then WWE would more than likely have her lose at the pay per view. The fact that AJ left the company so abruptly is a sign that she has no intentions of ever returning. She knows the business well enough to know that there would be backstage heat towards her.

There was a back and forth backstage in NXT when it came to deciding who would win the tournament to wrestle at Wrestlemania. In the end, though, the front office decided to go with the business decision. Since they wanted to draw in fans from Japan, where WWE will be touring this summer, Hideo Itami was chosen. Management even further capitalized on the situation by having Japanese legend Tatsumi Fujinami endorsing Itami in the ring.

However, there is some business involved to WWE choosing to honor him at Wrestlemania. The front office wanted to lure fans in Japan to watch the pay per view. They would love to observe one of their own being celebrated overseas. World Wrestling Entertainment is doing two shows in Tokyo in July.

While the majority of fans are hoping that Undertaker gets the win at Wrestlemania, there are those backstage in WWE that feel that it would be best for business if Bray Wyatt were to pick up the much needed victory, one that would give him enough momentum to head back into a main event scene that is set to feature a baby face champion in Roman Reigns. A loss for the Phenom would build anticipation for another return next year.
