Steve Austin backs out

Some further information has been revealed in regards to Steve Austin being at Wrestlemania. When he revealed on his podcast that he was going to be watching the pay per view from home, that raised several eyebrows backstage in WWE because he was actually scheduled to make an appearance. The belief is that the creative department even came up with a segment for him. No word yet on why Austin would back out of the appearance.

Hideo Itami winning

There was a back and forth backstage in NXT when it came to deciding who would win the tournament to wrestle at Wrestlemania. In the end, though, the front office decided to go with the business decision. Since they wanted to draw in fans from Japan, where WWE will be touring this summer, Hideo Itami was chosen. Management even further capitalized on the situation by having Japanese legend Tatsumi Fujinami endorsing Itami in the ring.

Wrestlemania opener

While it may seem like a non factor to most fans, there is actually a debate going on backstage in WWE right now about which match will open the kickoff show for Wrestlemania this year. Initially, Vince McMahon had the fatal four way for the tag team championship penciled in as the first match of the show. Now, with the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal being bumped off the main card, he is considering using that as the opener.

Wrestlemania changes

As expected, things are getting hectic backstage in WWE. Changes are being made left and right in regards to Wrestlemania. Some are even saying that Vince McMahon has barely had any sleep this week. Officials have been trying to figure out the timing of the show, and that is causing quite a bit of headaches. Management has already been forced to remove the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal from the main card because of timing issues.

Finn Balor promotion

Based on talks backstage this past week, it looks like Finn Balor is going to be cutting in line. Rather than going through the process of NXT and carrying the heavyweight championship first, the front office is talking about spring boarding him up to the main roster shortly after Wrestlemania. The belief is that when he signed with the company, Balor was assured that he would not be stuck in developmental for too long of a period of time.

Sting will speak

Since it is the final episode of Monday Night Raw before Wrestlemania, WWE wanted to kick things off with a big bang. They decided to turn to one of the greatest performers that the industry has ever seen. It has now been revealed that Sting will finally speak tonight. Unless things change backstage, it is expected to be the first segment of the evening. He obviously will address his upcoming match with Triple H.

Jey Uso working hurt

Since it is never a good idea in WWE to ruin plans at Wrestlemania, rumors are floating around that Jey Uso is going to attempt to wrestle at the pay per view. The belief is that the backstage agents are going to work the match around in a way where Jimmy Uso does most of the heavy lifting for the team. Fortunately for everyone involved, the match will consists of several competitors, so it should be easier to mask things.

Sheamus turns on Bryan

One of the ideas floating around backstage in WWE right now is to have Sheamus making his much anticipated and much promoted return during the Intercontinental Championship ladder match at Wrestlemania. He would initially do so as a baby face before getting the fans to turn on him by costing Daniel Bryan the match. A title feud between the two would then take place for the next month or so.

Heyman inducting Madusa

When it was initially revealed that Madusa was going to be inducted by WWE into the hall of fame during Wrestlemania weekend, the belief was that the front office was going to have one of the current divas doing the honors. That way, fans can hear the story about how she paved the way for female performers. It now appears that there is a push backstage to have Paul Heyman doing the induction as a way to get him involved in the show.

Charlotte on Monday Night Raw

Unless things become chaotic backstage, it appears that Charlotte is more than likely going to make her main roster debut on the episode of Monday Night Raw on the night following Wrestlemania. Ric Flair is supposed to be in attendance during the entire weekend, so that would make it quite convenient for the front office to have him appearing on television to introduce his daughter to fans who do not generally keep up with NXT.
