At Payback 2014, Wade Barrett successfully defended the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Rob Van Dam after picking up the pin fall victory, thanks to the Bull Hammer. Jack Swagger
Wade Barrett hasn't been on television in quite some time now because he suffered a shoulder injury during a match with Jack Swagger. He was recently up in Toronto, so he sought the help of Trish Stratus, a former WWE diva who now runs a successful yoga business. Barrett stated that the workout session with Trish helped his shoulder feel a bit better.

The downplaying of the Great Khali continues. WWE is doing some promotional work in India this week, and once again, the former world heavyweight champion was not chosen for the task of generating interest in his own country. Instead, WWE has sent Wade Barrett, a European star who is currently injured. The belief is that management will be severing ties with Khali once his contract expires because he is one of higher paid performers on the roster.

Wade Barrett
Patience isn't always a virtue in WWE. Wade Barrett was initially told by doctors that he would not be able to make his return to the ring until December. However, the company has a big tour of Europe in November. Since Barrett is viewed as a bit of a draw on that continent, WWE has started advertising his appearances. The belief is that Barrett will rush back from the injury to work those shows.

Wade Barrett
While many were afraid that the injury would cause him to lose his push, the fact that management has Wade Barrett scheduled to make an appearance at WWE Battleground 2014 is a good sign that the elevation will continue once he makes his return. The belief is that Barrett will be handing over the Intercontinental Championship to the winner of the battle royal, while planting the seeds for a future feud.

Jack Swagger
Thanks to an errant throw into the guard rail by Jack Swagger, Wade Barrett has underwent ligament reconstruction surgery. WWE is reporting that the operation went well and that Barrett is at home resting now. No official word yet on how long he will be gone, but rumors are floating that it will be for several months, which is why WWE stripped him of the Intercontinental Championship on Monday Night Raw this week.

Wade Barrett
Since Wade Barrett is injured and will require several months on the shelf, WWE decided to strip him of the Intercontinental Championship and put it on the line in a battle royal at Battleground 2014. Four names have been confirmed so far for the match. Kofi Kingston, Damien Sandow, Great Khali and Antonio Cesaro will be involved in that match. More is expected to be added through the next few weeks.

Wade Barrett
Over the last couple of months, Wade Barrett has been gaining momentum in WWE after receiving a little push. A lot of fans want to see him winning the gold at Money in the Bank 2014. However, the chances of that happening have decreased tremendously, as the Intercontinental Champion has suffered some sort of shoulder injury. Medical tests are still being ran, but rumors are strongly suggesting that WWE will pull him from the pay per view.

"It actually came from a joke. Cody Rhodes likes to tell a story that when he was a little kid he used to watch me wrestle. I'm slightly older than Cody, we're talking three years or something like that, but in his head I'm a really old man. I once walked into the locker room and he was telling the entire locker room that when he was a kid he was watching me wrestling as this character he made up named 'Bad News Barrett' who goes around giving out bad news to people. So we all laughed about it and forgot about it. Then I was invited on the JBL and Cole show and they said they wanted to use me on the show and asked if I had any ideas of what to do. So I said you know what, let's just do Bad News Barrett. I'll just turn up and give people bad news and then disappear. I got a really good response online and fans were loving the catch phrase 'I'm afraid I've got some bad news' and Vince McMahon saw it and thought it was the funniest thing he had ever seen. Next thing you know I'm on TV doing it." - Wade Barrett explaining how his new gimmick in WWE came ot be

Antonio Cesaro
At one point in time, WWE had plans to put the Intercontinental Championship around the waist of Antonio Cesaro. However, those plans were dropped and the belt was given to Wade Barrett instead. Since management still wants to push Cesaro, there is a very good chance that he ends up capturing the United States Heavyweight Championship from Sheamus at Payback 2014 tomorrow night.
May 31, 2014
Wade Barrett
Since the company is hoping to build him back up to the main event level, Wade Barrett is expected to successfully retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship in his match against Rob Van Dam at Payback 2014. The former leader of Nexus will more than likely be fed another challenger next month as well. If things go as planned, he could be a future rival for Daniel Bryan.
May 27, 2014
Wade Barrett
Over the last couple of weeks, WWE fans have witnessed Wade Barrett winning the Intercontinental Championship and Sheamus winning the United States Heavyweight Championship. A big reason why WWE went that route is because of the upcoming tour of Europe, as both performers are still quite popular on that continent.

Big E Langston
Over the last couple of weeks, Wade Barrett has picked up support from the audience thanks to his catchphrase. He also had a big fan backstage in Vince McMahon. Going into Extreme Rules 2014, the belief within WWE was that Barrett was all but guaranteed to win the IC title, especially since Big E Langston had very little to no momentum.

Wade Barrett
Initially, WWE was expected to give a big push to Big E Langston upon winning the Intercontinental Championship, but some things changed backstage and that never came to fruition. Since Langston has lost so much momentum over the last couple of months, WWE is seriously considering putting the IC title on the rising Wade Barrett at Extreme Rules 2014.

Vince McMahon
One of the big reasons why Wade Barrett is receiving a push in WWE right now is because he has a strong supporter in Vince McMahon, who absolutely loves the Bad News Barrett gimmick. The character was shown to McMahon not too long ago, and he was the one that pushed for it to be brought to Monday Night Raw and Smackdown on a weekly basis.
April 28, 2014
Bray Wyatt
With the pay per view just days away, there are some early predictions for Extreme Rules 2014 already. Many in the industry believe that Wade Barrett will take the IC title from Big E Langston because of the momentum that he has built up. A lot of people believe that Bray Wyatt will be given a win over John Cena to get some of his heat back. Almost no one believes that Kane will win the WWE title from Daniel Bryan.
April 27, 2014
Batista
With the X-Men star making a return appearance next week, WWE has been hinting that Hugh Jackman is going to be knocking out one of the wrestlers. The company set up a poll to see which performer the fans wanted to see in the roll. Damien Sandow, JBL, Wade Barrett, Randy Orton, Batista, Ryback, Curtis Axel, Zeb Colter, Fandango and Jack Swagger were all included, but Triple H and Paul Heyman are currently in the lead.
April 25, 2014
Antonio Cesaro
Unless things change backstage in the next few days, it looks like Wade Barrett will be beating Rob Van Dam on Monday Night Raw next week to win himself a shot at Big E Langston and the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules 2014. There are rumors that management will have Antonio Cesaro interfering in the match to cost RVD the victory.
April 25, 2014
Wade Barrett
Thanks to a really impressive performance from both guys on Monday Night Raw last week, rumors are now floating around that Wade Barrett has shot up as candidate to win the tournament to crown a new challenger for Big E Langston and the WWE Intercontinental Championship. The two of them could be facing one another at Extreme Rules 2014.
April 22, 2014
Alberto Del Rio
A lot of action took place in the main event of Money in the Bank 2014. Fans went crazy as they saw creative signature spots from Randy Orton, Sheamus, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Alberto Del Rio, Kane and Bray Wyatt. However, it was Cena, much to the dismay of online WWE fans, who climbed the ladder and captured the heavyweight championship.
June 29, 2014
CM Punk
To calm down the Money in the Bank 2014 audience, WWE opted to go with another divas match as a filler. Layla El and Summer Rae battled in a match, where Fandango served as the special guest referee. Fans were so disinterested in the segment that a CM Punk chant broke out. In the end, Layla caught Summer with a kick to gain the pinfall. Layla and Fandango kissed after the match, while a despondent Summer looked on.
June 29, 2014
Alexander Rusev
In a rematch at Money in the Bank 2014, Alexander Rusev was successfully able to conquer Big E Langston again with his submission move. It was the typical match that you would expect from the two. There was a botched spot where Langston speared Rusev to the outside of the ring. However, the two of them more than made up for that by doing a great closing sequence.
June 29, 2014
Cody Rhodes
In a match that was slightly held in higher regards than a filler match, Goldust and Cody Rhodes, who worked under his Stardust gimmick again, defeated Curtis Axel, who was sporting a ridiculous looking singlet, and Ryback. The match was designed to highlight the Stardust character. Since there was a little bit of action after the match, there is a chance that WWE could be continuing this feud.
June 29, 2014
Dean Ambrose
In a very exciting match, Seth Rollins outlasted Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston, Rob Van Dam and Jack Swagger to capture the briefcase at Money in the Bank 2014. WWE wants to continue the war between Ambrose and the Authority, so they had Kane coming out and providing assistance to Rollins. Despite the heel tactic to win the match, the Rollins victory was actually cheered by a good amount of fans.
June 29, 2014
Adam Rose
Since WWE needed a filler segment at Money in the Bank 2014 and wanted to showcase Adam Rose a little bit, he was given a quick match against Damien Sandow, who was dressed as Paul Revere. Match was not really all that noteworthy, and Rose got the win after hitting the Party Foul finishing move. This was a segment that belongs more on Monday Night Raw than a pay per view.
June 29, 2014
Cameron
Naomi Knight was given a crack at the WWE Divas Championship at Money in the Bank 2014, but it was Paige that walked away as the reigning titleholder after a DDT and a pin. The match was designed to further the eventual split between Naomi and Cameron, who was at ringside and taking glee whenever her tag team partner was in peril against Paige.
June 29, 2014
Erick Rowan
Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso had their biggest challenge to date when Erick Rowan and Luke Harper challenged them for the WWE tag team championship at Money in the Bank 2014. The twin brothers delivered by retaining the belt. The Usos performed a double superplex on Rowan before finishing him off with consecutive flying splashes from the top rope.
June 29, 2014
Batista
In a rather surprising move, WWE had the Shield win convincingly against Evolution. Batista and Randy Orton were the first two performers to be eliminated from the main event match at Payback 2014, but both provided interference for Triple H after their eliminations. After taking a brutal beating, Roman Reigns picked up the win for his team. Many expected Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins to be eliminated during the match, but WWE opted to give them a dominant ending.
June 2, 2014
Alicia Fox
In a match designed to be the buffer between the two main event features at Payback 2014, Paige successfully defended the WWE Divas Championship against Alicia Fox via submission. Afterwards, Alicia continued her story line of going crazy whenever things do not go well for her. The audience reacted more to the post match antics than the actual match.
June 2, 2014
Bray Wyatt
In a segment filled with plenty of interference from Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Luke Rowan and Erick Harper, John Cena was able to defeat Bray Wyatt in a Last Man Standing match at Payback 2014 after Cena put Wyatt through a big black box and covered him with an even heavier box. Rumors have it that WWE will be continuing this feud and something could trigger that on Monday Night Raw this week.
June 2, 2014
Alexander Rusev
In a glorified squash match at Payback 2014, Alexander Rusev defeated Big E Langston via submission to continue his push up the ladder in WWE. He was able to slap on the camel clutch after delivering a big kick to Langston. Afterwards, he held the submission move on for a short period of time before Lana instructs him to let go. Rusev should be placed into a new feud this week.
June 1, 2014
Cody Rhodes
In a match designed by WWE to accelerate the split between the brothers, Curtis Axel and Ryback defeated Cody Rhodes and Goldust in the second match of Payback 2014. Ryback picked up the pin fall victory for his team after delivering the Shell Shock to Rhodes. Afterwards, Rhodes told Goldust that he needs to find a better tag team partner for himself.
June 1, 2014
Antonio Cesaro
Despite being in the airplane spin for quite a few rotations, Sheamus was able to capture the victory over Antonio Cesaro, who had Paul Heyman with him at ringside, at Payback 2014 by surprising his opponent with a small package. With the win, Sheamus retains the United States Heavyweight Championship and will more than likely be placed in another feud by WWE tomorrow.
June 1, 2014
Daniel Bryan
In a match filled with quite a few over the top spots, Daniel Bryan successfully retained the WWE Championship by defeating Kane at Extreme Rules 2014. A running knee followed by a pin enabled Bryan to get the pin fall victory over Kane. Prior to that spot, Kane was put through a burning table and carried on a forklift, among other things.
May 4, 2014
Paige
Since WWE needed a Divas Championship match at Extreme Rules 2014, Paige was given the victory over Tamina Snuka after delivering her submission finisher. The segment was short and quick, providing only a couple of spots outside the ring. It basically served as a pay per view buffer between the steel cage match and the world title match.
May 4, 2014
Bray Wyatt
After suffering a loss at the last pay per view, Bray Wyatt needed a victory over John Cena at Extreme Rules 2014, and he got just that. Wyatt received a heavy dose of interference from Luke Harper and Erick Rowan, but Cena still managed to overcome those odds. As Cena was walking out of the cage, a kid showed up and began singing, which provided enough distraction for Wyatt to hit his Sister Abigail finisher and walk out for the victory.
May 4, 2014
Batista
In the most anticipated match at Extreme Rules 2014, the Shield defeated Evolution. Roman Reigns picked up the pin fall victory over Batista after a Superman punch and a spear. Triple H, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose fought through the audience before Rollins took out all four of them by hurling himself from the elevated stands.
May 4, 2014
Alexander Rusev
WWE wanted to give Alexander Rusev a big win at Extreme Rules 2014, and the company did just that by having the big guy defeat both Xavier Woods and R Truth in a handicap match. Rusev forced Truth to submit to his camel clutch finisher. Woods was barely involved in the match, as Rusev threw him into the steel beam underneath the ring at the start of the match.
May 4, 2014
Antonio Cesaro
The triple threat match at Extreme Rules 2014 quickly became a singles match after Jack Swagger was eliminated after a combination of a superplex and flying splash. Antonio Cesaro then won the match by pinning Rob Van Dam after delivering his Neutralizer finishing move on top of a trash can. Zeb Colter and Paul Heyman had minimal involvement.
