While the performers are free to post things without having to check with the front office first, WWE still plays a heavy part in monitoring the social media activities of those involved with the company. Vince McMahon has a pet peeve about people making his corporation look bad by saying things they should not be saying. For their part, the wrestlers have done a fairly good job of following the guidelines given to them by management.

While we know that Stephanie McMahon was livid over what AJ Lee did to her on social media earlier this week, it is being reported that Vince McMahon was the cooler head in the situation. Reports are saying that he was the one that calmed down Stephanie and instructed her to post a public relations response to comments made by AJ that insinuated that the divas were not being treated as well as their male counterparts in WWE.

Another social media milestone has been reached by WWE. The company announced that they now have more than 5 million followers on Twitter. That is more than the average amount of people that tune into Monday Night Raw each week, which means that a good amount of the followers are international. Vince McMahon is said to not completely understand social media, but he loves being able to taunt big numbers to investors.

WWE wanted the world to know that their big event is pretty popular as well. Through their social media account, the company boasted that they drew 72,219 fans when they did Wrestlemania in the same stadium that the NFL drew 70,228 today. Vince McMahon loves to taunt numbers when he beats big companies.
