Apparently, WWE has taken quite an interest in Lucha Underground. Triple H was one of the executives that the company sent to meet with representatives of the upstart California based promotion. The goal was to get a talent exchange agreement between the two sides, but LU officials were said to not be interested because it would not be in the best interest of their company. They feel that they can rise on their own right now.

While his appearance in NXT was only a cameo, James Storm stated that he had not intended to make a return to TNA so quickly afterwards. Things just came together. Storm, who is now teaming with Bobby Roode again, stated that he had some very good discussions with Triple H, whom he has called one of the most passionate people in professional wrestling. James believes that the door for a potential WWE return has been left open for him.

As many people had predicted, Triple H was the final entrant in the Royal Rumble tonight. After eliminating Roman Reigns, the reigning WWE Heavyweight Champion, HHH battled it out with Dean Ambrose, whom the live Orlando audience was totally behind. After some entertaining spots, HHH managed to flip Ambrose over the ropes, thus becoming the brand new champion and earning a spot in the main event of Wrestlemania.

When Tyler Breeze was first promoted from the NXT roster, it appeared that he was sitting pretty as WWE immediately pushed him on the main roster against Dolph Ziggler. He even got a big victory at Summerslam. Well, it looks like that is dead and gone now. Vince McMahon no longer believes in Breeze, so his push was terminated, despite the objection of Triple H. That was why Summer Rae was taken away from Tyler.

Since Triple H was purging the New Japan roster, WWE decided to pursue Rocky Romero as well. Management wanted him as either a wrestler or as a trainer. Negotiations got to the point where Romero was scheduled to visit the performance center for further talks. NJPW officials, however, decided that they really did not want to lose Rocky, so they made him a sweet two year contract offer, which Romero accept. He canceled his meeting.

Earlier in the week, WWE decided to capitalize on the hype behind AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows were joining the company by doing a story on their website. It has now been revealed that Triple H was the person behind that move, as he felt it would be better for World Wrestling Entertainment to receive the traffic instead of allowing other wrestling websites to generate revenue off of them.
