Iron Mike Sharpe passes away

Earlier today, WWE issued an official announcement about the death of Iron Mike Sharpe at the age of 64. No cause of death has been reported at this point in time. Billing himself as the greatest athlete from Canada, Sharpe spent time in both the NWA and WWF, where he was memorably a jobber on the weekly television shows. Iron Mike spent some time training wrestlers after his retirement. His students include Charlie Haas.

Rumors are swirling around that Stephanie McMahon might be working a match at Wrestlemania. The source of the speculation stems from the fact that the Chief Brand Officer of WWE posted on social media that she was training for the event. There were rumors last year that she might work a match against UFC star Ronda Rousey, but that is not on the table. Stephanie could just be training so she looks good for the show.

As of right now, Shinsuke Nakamura is scheduled to move to the United States in February after he finishes up his contractual obligations to New Japan. His first stop could be Pittsburgh, where WWE has new performers medically tested before letting them start training. Nakamura is expected to spend several weeks in Florida, where he will be learning how to adapt to the World Wrestling Entertainment style before going to the main roster.

For those that missed the POP TV debut of Impact Wrestling, Ethan Carter is once again the world heavyweight champion in TNA. That is quite interesting as the original plans called for Bobby Lashley to defeat Matt Hardy for the belt. No official word yet on why management made the change, but there are speculations that Lashley might need to focus more on his MMA training now that he is a top contender for a Bellator title.

While he still needs further training, Cody Hall has been impressing those within New Japan. He has been very receptive to advice and ideas that are presented to him. In the ring, Hall has shown a natural ability for screen presence. The belief is that he is a surefire lock to become a WWE star once he is done training overseas. If he behaves, then Scott Hall might be brought in along with his son as well.

It has now been revealed that the former world heavyweight champion has been doing some MMA training with established UFC stars. They have praised his work ethics and ability to learn things quickly. Bryan has yet to suffer an injury during training.

Jey has been out for several months now due to an injury. Jimmy has been sparingly used by management. The creative department did not bother coming up with a singles story line for him, so he mostly stayed on the sidelines.
