When Tommy Dreamer gave Shane Helms a chance to be a commentator for House of Hardcore, a new career opportunity was opened. Rumors are now floating around that TNA is considering Helms as a potential replacement for Taz, who recently parted ways with the company. Helms was recently added to the front office as an agent and producer, but a change could be made if management deems him to be the best option to join Josh Mathews.

While it is way too early for anything to be finalized, the speculation is that Taz is indeed a candidate to become one of the commentators for House of Hardcore now that Tommy Dreamer has managed to pull off an international television deal for his promotion. No word yet on if he has a non compete clause with TNA, but Dreamer works for the company, so he might be able to convince the front office to let the move happen.

In order to help their performers make more money each year, TNA has decided to modify the rule that prevents them from working in other promotions. In the past, special permission was granted for the wrestlers to work on cards promoted by Tommy Dreamer, Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy. Now, they are free to work internet pay per view events for smaller independent companies. ROH is still not an option for the wrestlers, however.

In a rather interesting little tidbit, Drew McIntyre almost never signed with TNA. He said that he was sleeping at the time and didn't recognize the number that was calling, so he simply threw his phone on the bed. The front office tried contacting him a couple of times and failed. Then, Tommy Dreamer decided to take things into his own hands by sending a text message to McIntyre to let him know that the company wanted to sign him.

For the majority of the time, you can see Matt Striker doing commentary for companies such as Lucha Underground, GFW and New Japan. However, that does not mean that he has hung up his wrestling tights for good. Over the weekend, Striker worked a match for the House of Hardcore show that was promoted by Tommy Dreamer. He took the pin fall loss to former TNA star Amazing Red. Striker might still continue to wrestle some more.
