TNA releases Awesome Kong

Thanks in large part to her backstage confrontation with Reby Sky, Awesome Kong has now been given her official release from TNA. Kong reportedly physically attacked Reby after throwing her stuff outside of the Knockouts locker room while the two of them were on the tour of Europe. Management could not allow her to stick around because it would send a bad message to the other performers in the company.

Lucha Underground and TNA

In a rather interesting move, TNA officials contacted Lucha Underground officials to gauge their interest in doing a joint show in Dallas during Wrestlemania 32 weekend. Dixie Carter and her staff believe that if the two sides were to come together, it would create quite the buzz and capitalize on the thousands and thousands of WWE fans that are expected to head towards the pay per view. LU officials were not interested in the partnership.

Awesome Kong attacks Reby Sky

While working a tour of England, Awesome Kong, whose real name is Kia Stevens, ended up attacking Reby Sky while the two of them were backstage at the Manchester Arena. TNA officials had to release a statement so that fans would know that they are doing something about it. John Gaburick stated that Kong was immediately sent home from the tour and that further punishment could be levied after they do a full investigation into the matter.

James Storm on WWE return

While his appearance in NXT was only a cameo, James Storm stated that he had not intended to make a return to TNA so quickly afterwards. Things just came together. Storm, who is now teaming with Bobby Roode again, stated that he had some very good discussions with Triple H, whom he has called one of the most passionate people in professional wrestling. James believes that the door for a potential WWE return has been left open for him.

During a recent interview, Shawn Daivari revealed a rather interesting story that took place backstage that caused him to abruptly quit TNA. During the planning for his Feast or Fired match against Cody Deaner, Eric Bischoff revealed that he was going to choose the person being legitimately fired as the match was going on. That enraged Daivari, who gave his notice and said that he would be working that final match as a favor to Deaner.

While doing an interview with WSVN TV, Alberto Del Rio was asked about his negotiations with TNA last year. The former world heavyweight champion revealed that he had every intentions of signing with the company when he started talks with them. Del Rio simply stated that the deal was never finalized because the company was going through some financial hardships. When they finally got the money, Alberto was already negotiating with WWE.

After months of pondering his next couple of chapters in professional wrestling, Jeff Hardy has decided to forego an opportunity to return to WWE, the company that helped make him a global sensation. Instead, he opted to sign a contract extension with TNA, the company that gave him another chance to be a part of the industry that he grew up loving. No word yet on the terms of the deal, but it should be at least a year.

While official numbers are not released since they are a privately held company, reports have surfaced that TNA offered James Storm 250 percent more than what WWE was offering him to work on the NXT brand. Rumors have it that World Wrestling Entertainment offered Storm less than $100,000 a year, which means that he has a six figure deal to become one of the centerpieces of Impact Wrestling for the time being.
