Team Pacman (Pacman Jones & Ron Killings) vs Sting & Kurt Angle
- Pacman Jones refused to tag in.
- Karen Angle makes her way out.
- Sting asks her to leave, and an argument ensues.
- Sting points to the entry way, and Karen Angle pretends that she was hit.
- Kurt Angle is upset, so he turns on Sting by hitting him with the Angle Slam.
- Pacman Jones tags in for the pin.
- WINNER: Pacman Jones & Ron Killings capture the TNA World Tag Team Championship.
THOUGHTS: Decent match that served its purpose. They set up a dream feud between Sting and Kurt Angle. Plus, they put the titles on Pacman Jones to garner some more media attention.
"Cowboy" James Storm vs Rhino
- James Storm goes to hide in the crowd.
- James Storm and Rhino battle throughout the crowd.
- Rhino hits the gore, but James Storm is able to kick out at 2.
- Fans hand Rhino two chairs to use in the ring.
- Rhino sets up for a flying piledriver, but James Storm counters it into a flying Diamond Cutter on to the chairs.
- James Storm sets up a table, but gets Gored through them.
- WINNER: Rhino
THOUGHTS: Good match. With James Storm being so entertaining in these skits, it looks like the writers are going to continue this feud. |
SEGMENT: Kurt Angle, Karen Angle, Kevin Nash, Jim Cornette, Sting
- Kurt Angle is upset with Sting.
- Kevin Nash tries to calm him down.
- Kevin Nash said he only saw Karen Angle slapping Sting and not the other way around.
- Sting flies in and attacks Kurt Angle.
- Jim Cornette sends Sting to his hotel.
- Jim Cornette also sends Karen Angle to her hotel.
- Kurt Angle doesn't like, so Jim Cornette tells him he can leave as well.
- Kevin Nash tells Kurt Angle to focus.
THOUGHTS: Pretty good segment to further develop the program between Sting and Kurt Angle. Wonder if they're going to go anywhere with the tensions between Kevin Nash and Kurt Angle.
Kaz vs Robert Roode
- Robert Roode goes for the Perfectplex, but both men end up tumbling over the top ropes and to the floor.
- Ms Brooks isn't sure which man to check on.
- Robert Roode throws Kaz into Ms Brooks, but he's able to stop himself.
- Robert Roode hits Kaz with a knee to the back, knocking him into Ms Brooks.
- Robert Roode tries to get Ms Brooks to take a cheap shot at Kaz, but she refuses.
- Robert Roode pulls out a small pair of chains, but Kaz knocks them out of his hands.
- Ms Brooks reluctantly retrieves the chains for Robert Roode.
- Kaz walks over to Ms Brooks to kiss her hands.
- Kaz misses a flying legdrop, and Robert Roode gets him into the Perfectplex.
- WINNER: Robert Rhoodes
THOUGHTS: Solid match. Hopefully, Ms Brooks leaves Robert Roode for Kaz at Bound For Glory. She would help his popularity immensely.
Kurt Angle vs "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal
- Jay Lethal hits the flying elbow smash, but Kurt Angle is able to kick out.
- Kurt Angle goes the for Angle Slam, but Jay Lethal counters. Kurt Angle counters that into an Angle Lock, but Jay Lethal counters that into a pin.
- WINNER: Jay Lethal captures the TNA X Division Championship
THOUGHTS: Very good match despite the fact that Kurt Angle had to hold back a bit to be able to work the main event. It'd be nice if these two had a 30 minute match at an Impact tapings later.
"Black Reign" Dustin Rhodes vs "Wildcat" Chris Harris
- Chris Harris starts the match by flying out of the ring on to Dustin Rhodes.
- Dustin Rhodes grabs his weapon, but Chris Harris rolls him up with a school boy pin.
- WINNER: Chris Harris
- Chris Harris grabs a handcuff and punches Dustin Rhodes with it.
- Chris Harris handcuffs Dustin Rhodes to the ropes and attempts to hit him with a chair.
- Dustin Rhodes is able to counter, grab the keys, and free himself.
- Dustin Rhodes hits Chris Harris with a chair and then lets the rat walk all over Chris Harris.
THOUGHTS: Nothing special about this match. They need to drop this feud and move Chris Harris on to something else. It's not working out.
Tag Team Gauntlet Match
- AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels start the match.
- Homicide is in next, followed by Chris Sabin and then Havoc.
- Homicide is eliminated.
- Petey Williams enters and hits a Canadian Destroyer on Havoc.
- Chris Sabin gets eliminated.
- Brother Devon is next, followed by the debuting Jimmy Rave and then Brother Ray.
- Havoc is eliminated.
- Raven is in, but he gets eliminated pretty fast after being double teamed by Team 3D.
- Shark Boy comes in next, bites Brother Devon in the butt, and then gets eliminated by Brother Ray.
- Sonjay Dutt comes in.
- Petey Williams and Jimmy Rave get eliminated by Team 3D.
- BG James is in, followed by Hernandez and then Tomko.
- Brother Devon and Brother Ray are both eliminated.
- Elix Skipper is next, followed by Alex Shelley.
- Alex Shelley eliminates BG James.
- Lance Hoyt is in, followed by Kip James and then Eric Young.
- The next series of elimination are: Hernandez, Tomko, Lance Hoyt, Kip James, Christopher Daniels. and then Eric Young.
- The match is now a tag team match with Tomko and Chris Sabin allowed back into the match.
- Extremely high paced match that ends with AJ Styles getting the pin with a handful of tights.
- WINNERS: AJ Styles and Tomko win a shot at the TNA World Tag Team Championship
THOUGHTS: Easily one of the best matches of the year. Plenty of high spots. Then, the tag team match was truly impressive. Hopefully, the Motor City Machine Guns can feud with AJ Styles & Tomko for the tag titles soon.
Samoa Joe vs Christian Cage
- Samoa Joe stormed the ring to start the match.
- Samoe Joe follows Christian Cage outside the ring to attack him.
- Christian Cage hits a flying reverse DDT on Samoa Joe.
- Samoa Joe puts Christian Cage in a submission move and refuses to let go.
- Referee pulls Samoa Joe off the move by the hair.
- Samoa Joe hits the referee with a Death Valley Driver.
- WINNER: Christian Cage
- Samoa Joe hits the Muscle Buster on Christian Cage.
- Referees, security guards, and wrestlers come out to the ring to stop Samoa Joe.
- Jim Cornette and Matt Morgan come out to the ring.
- Samoa Joe and Matt Morgan go face to face.
- Samoa Joe leaves the ring after flipping off Matt Morgan and Jim Cornette.
THOUGHTS: Tremendous match that elevated Samoa Joe into a monster again. He looked very strong in this thing. Plus, his face to face with Matt Morgan was a bit of a mark out moment. Hopefully, Christian Cage and Samoa Joe face off against at Bound For Glory in a gimmick match.
Kurt Angle vs Abyss
- Kurt Angle hits the Angle Slam, but only gets a two count.
- Kurt Angle removes Abyss' boot to work on his legs.
- Abyss gets the Black Hole Slam on Kurt Angle, but only gets a two count.
- Kurt Angle gets the Angle Lock. After struggling for a few minutes, Abyss eventually taps out.
- WINNER: Kurt Angle retains the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
- Kurt Angle leaves, and a video of James Mitchell appears.
- Someone cuts through the ring mat and pulls Abyss down into the ring.
THOUGHTS: Very good main event match that was made even better by the fact that Kurt Angle wrestled all night. Kurt Angle went old school and heavily relied on ring psychology by focusing much of his attack on Abyss' leg. |
