Wolves stripped

While Eddie Edwards was working vigorously to be able to return from an injury in time for the next taping of Impact Wrestling, TNA opted instead to strip he and Davey Richards of the world tag team championship. The reason for doing that is because the front office does not want to risk either one of them being hurt again. The company views the Wolves as two of their key players in the division, so they want to ensure they stick around.

Lashley vs Angle

It appears that Bobby Lashley and Kurt Angle have come through for TNA. Their world heavyweight championship match was heavily promoted, and it increased viewership for that episode of Impact Wrestling by a very impressive margin of 20 percent. Executives at Destination America should be quite pleased with that, especially since they were the ones that pushed the front office to make Angle the centerpiece attraction again.

James Storm Revolution

The payoff for the Revolution stable led by James Storm might be coming very soon. With Kurt Angle being pushed as the top star in TNA again, he is going to need some heel challengers for his world heavyweight championship. MVP is obviously going to be one of those foes. Another person discussed is Storm, who is long overdue for another run in the main event. His ever growing stable would be an imposing challenge for Angle.

Hardy Boys tournament

A rather interesting omission from the upcoming tag team championship tournament in TNA is Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy. As of right now, the brothers have not been officially announced as entrants. From what we know, both guys are under contract to the promotion for at least another year, so that can be ruled out as a factor for their absence. Management could also be saving their announcement to build up the anticipation from the audience.

TNA tournament

Since Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards were forced to vacate the tag team championship because the former is out with a broken foot, TNA has decided to put together a tournament to crown new titleholders. Thus far, seven teams have been revealed, and it appears that management is scouring the independent wrestling circuit to see if they could find a surprise entrant that will create a buzz for the company.

Eddie Edwards injury

Earlier in the year, Eddie Edwards suffered a broken foot while doing a match on Impact Wrestling. That caused TNA to really think about the future of the tag team championship. Well, it looks like they have received a bit of good news in that department. Edwards opted against having surgery. He found another method of rehabilitation. Things are going well enough to where he could be back in the ring around May.

Kurt Angle push

In case you missed the last few episodes of Impact Wrestling, Kurt Angle defeated Bobby Roode and Eric Young to become the top contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship that is currently held by Bobby Lashley. Reports have surfaced that management was instructed to push the Olympic gold medalist because having a real American hero would be great for a the theme that Destination America has been trying to push for themselves.
