At the start of every year, several names are discussed as a potential inductee into the hall of fame. A notable omission yet again is King Kong Bundy. His name was not even mentioned for Wrestlemania 30 weekend, even though the presence of Hulk Hogan could have been used as a tie in since the two of them had that legendary match at Wrestlemania 2.

It looks like those speculations were true, as the former on screen general manager of Smackdown has been relatively quiet since his departure. Long has not made appearances on the independent wrestling circuit or other events.

While there are some minor rumors about him potentially joining TNA or Global Force Wrestling, the widespread belief is that Theodore Long is more than likely going to retire now that he no longer works for WWE. He's already at a pretty advanced age, and his name value is not quite what it used to be since he was kept off of television for so long.

Alex Riley
Booker T is running his first internet pay per view for his wrestling promotion, and Reality of Wrestling will have plenty of WWE presence there. Josh Mathews has signed on to help Booker do commentary for the evening, while Alex Riley will be making his return to the ring for a match. Theodore Long, who was recently released by WWE, will be on hand to act as the on screen general manager at the PPV.

WWE released a lot of people on Thursday. While Theodore Long was among the many names, his contract had actually expired and management opted against keeping him around. Since he is no longer under any contractual obligation to WWE, Long is free to sign with TNA or Global Force Wrestling if he so chooses. No word yet on whether or not those companies have interest in him since he has not been used as much in WWE lately.

There was a surprising amount of fans who have been wanting to see Theodore Long return as an on screen character, but that will not be happening. WWE gave the former general manager his release today. Long has rarely been used over the last year, and it was not clear if he actually had another role backstage.

Booker T
While he hasn't been a relevant part of Monday Night Raw or Smackdown in quite some time now, Theodore Long is still actually employed by WWE. The creative department simply does not have a story line for him to work with at the moment. The long rumored feud between he and Booker T has essentially been put to rest and will not be utilized.
