Earlier in the week, rumors surfaced about a potential main event match between Brock Lesnar and The Rock at Wrestlemania next year in Dallas. The latter was recently asked about that possibility during an interview, and he actually addressed the topic. He stated that it was indeed a possibility. He stated that there would be some interest because WWE would have a chance to break attendance records with a match like that.

On the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, WWE fans heard a promo from Brock Lesnar, where he bragged about beating The Rock and sending him away to Hollywood. Management purposely wrote that into the script because they want to leave the door open for a potential main event match between the two of them at Wrestlemania next year. The company knows that they will need a high profile match to fill out that gigantic stadium in Dallas.

If WWE decides to go through with the idea of having the world famous Samoan wrestling family showing up at Wrestlemania to celebrate with Roman Reigns when he wins the heavyweight championship from Brock Lesnar, one of the faces out there that you might not be familiar with yet is Lina Fanene. She is currently in the developmental program but not yet a regular on television. She is related to The Rock and is close to his mom.

While the company would love for The Rock to be a part of their hall of fame ceremony at Wrestlemania this year, WWE will have to settle for an alternative when it comes to inducting Rikishi. As of right now, management has Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso being the ones to induct their father. There is still a chance that the company could end up getting someone else from the famous Samoan family, but as of right now, the brothers make the most sense.

Reports have surfaced that Tamina Snuka is very close to being ready for a WWE return. She has been training with developmental diva Lina Fanene, who also happens to be related to The Rock. While she may be physically capable of returning, it does not guarantee that it will be happening anytime soon. The creative department is swamped right now because of Wrestlemania, so her return could be pushed back until after that pay per view.

While a third match against John Cena is still on the table, WWE is leaning much more towards doing the dream match between The Rock and Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania. The match would easily be the main event, as it is the biggest possible draw that the company can throw out there right now. Nothing would generate bigger numbers. The only potential setback for this happening is the fact that it will cost management a huge sum of money.

At one point in time, there was a lot of speculations floating around that The Rock would work a high profile match at Wrestlemania against Rusev after the two of them worked a segment on Monday Night Raw. Reports have surfaced that WWE has completely taken that off the table. Management is hoping that the Great One works a higher profile match on the pay per view. Many are pushing for him to be in the main event instead.

Depending on how well negotiations with the company go today, there is a chance that The Rock could end up shocking the world by winning the Royal Rumble tonight. WWE knows that they desperately need their legendary star around if they want to do big numbers in the coming weeks. The move would happen if the former world heavyweight champion agrees to work a Wrestlemania match against either John Cena or Brock Lesnar.

Up until a couple of weeks ago, the hope that The Rock was going to be working Wrestlemania 31 was very much still in the air backstage in WWE. However, with the former world heavyweight champion picking up movie gigs left and right, the optimism has diminished quite a bit. Management initially had hoped that he would return and work a big match against Triple, so much that they even teased it on television. The program has been reportedly ruled out completely now.
