TNA belt vacant

While reports earlier this week stated that Eddie Edwards was well on the road to recovery and would be returning in time for television, it appears that TNA will be taking the safe approach. At the Impact Wrestling taping on Friday, Edwards and Davey Richards cut a promo and announced that the Wolves were vacating the belt. They cited the real life injury as the reason why. The vacant tag titles will be filled in some manner soon.

Matt Hardy signs contract

John Gaburick has been a busy fellow this week. In addition to locking down Angelina Love to a contract, the TNA executive has also secured the use of Matt Hardy for at least another year. The company likes having Hardy around because his name value is still strong after years of being one of the more popular and profitable performers for WWE. Having him around also helps the front office secure television and advertising deals.

Samoa Joe last match

If you are a TNA fan that is sentimental about Samoa Joe leaving the company, you are going to want to tune in to Impact Wrestling on March 20. That night will showcase his final match in the promotion. Fortunately for those that love great in ring action, Joe was paired with Austin Aries in that match, which was filmed when the company was doing a tour of England earlier in the year. No word yet on how he will be written off of television.

Great Khali to TNA

There is said to be some interest from TNA in regards to signing the Great Khali to a contract. The company recently signed a massive television deal in India that will keep them on the air until the year 2022. A lot of that had to do with the fact that they now have Mahabali Shera on the roster. Since the network wants Dixie Carter to bring even more talent from their country on board, there is a chance that Khali could be used for his name value.

Dixie Carter support

For much of the past year, Dixie Carter had been under fire because TNA appeared to be heading downhill. The company was losing their television contract with Spike TV, and performers were leaving left and right. Her own employees reportedly started losing a lot of faith in her. Carter has now turned things around. The deal with Destination America is being highly praised, and the international deals have been finalized. Carter has support again.

TNA in India

After locking up their deal with Destination America to remain on television in the United States, TNA has now finalized a massive deal with Sony Six to ensure that they will be on the air in India. Dixie Carter has announced that her company has signed a 7 year deal with the network. That means that Impact Wrestling will be seen in that country until the year 2022. The addition of Mahabali Shera was said to be a huge selling point for that region.

Crimson returning

Since his attempt at being picked up by WWE has reportedly failed, it looks like Crimson is looking into other options to remain in the professional wrestling industry. There are reports stating that he is currently in negotiations with TNA on a full time contract. The 29 year old showed up earlier this week and worked a television taping of Xplosion. The belief is that a new deal had not been signed and that it was a one time thing for now.

Impact Wrestling numbers

When Dixie Carter was forced to move her television show to a new network, she knew that the numbers were going to take a significant dip. That has been the case for Impact Wrestling, as a lot of fans struggled to find the new home of TNA. However, the numbers have been increasing as of late. A Destination America executive revealed that the show has drawn in over four million unique viewers over the entire month of January.

Jay Lethal breaks record

While it certainly is not as prestigious as holding the world heavyweight championship, ROH has decided to honor Jay Lethal by allowing him to break a couple of records. The former TNA star is now the longest reigning television champion in the history of the promotion. Lethal has defended the belt successfully a total of 22 times, which is also a record. No word yet if management has considered rewarding him with the big prize.

TNA live events

Since the company now has a new television deal with Destination America, many fans are naturally wondering if TNA will be hitting the road soon and doing live events. As of right now, that is not in the plans by Dixie Carter and her staff. The goal is to build up the brand again through Impact Wrestling. Once they have enough momentum, then they will consider going back on the road to do house shows. Management wants to avoid losing money.
