John Gaburick, the former WWE executive who now has a lead role in TNA, reportedly has some backstage heat with Eric Young during one of the television tapings on the European tour. The two were arguing over the longevity of a spot filmed for Impact Wrestling.
It appears that the story line and character development for Brutus Magnus is working, as fans have been booing him during the European tour. Many backstage were expecting him to receive cheers like Rockstar Spud has been receiving, but they're pleasantly surprised by the crowd reaction.
In a bit of news that will be troublesome to fans who are concerned with his health, Kurt Angle has postponed surgery on his knees. He was initially supposed to go under the knife in January, but pushed that back to work the European tour with TNA, and there's talks that he might postpost it even further than that.
Looks like TNA picked up some more assets while they're on their European tour. The company has signed Alpha Female, a German born wrestler who works in England. She's expecting to make her debut on Impact Wrestling very soon and could be paired up with a male performer.
Mr Anderson was written off of television on Impact Wrestling, and he's also now the father of newborn twins, so that led many to believe that he was going to be skipping the current European tour that TNA is on. However, it has now been confirmed that he is overseas with the company.
For a while there, Aksana had some backstage heat on her in WWE because of her performances during the European tour. However, a lot of that heat has died down tremendously, as she has slowly received more television time. Aksana is also a candidate to join Total Divas next season.
TNA wants a successful tour of Europe in January, so they're hoping to have AJ Styles involved. The company either wants him to make a surprise return during an episode of Impact Wrestling that is being taped overseas or on an episode before that.
Speculations about Jeff Hardy leaving TNA have increased, as the former world champion will not be joining the company as they do a tour of England in January. He is also expected to miss at least a couple of episodes of Impact Wrestling as well.
"If I was in complete control of TNA, I would do anything, if WWE right now was going left; I would go right. And if they started going right; I would go left. So that's what I would do. I would try to be the complete opposite of WWE. That's just my opinion. I don't have millions invested. I don't make tons and tons of money as an upper management guy. I don't go in focus groups. I'm not part of that whole research team. I, this is just some blue-collared guy from Brooklyn that wrestled for a living that talks about wrestlers now giving you my opinion. Doesn't mean I'm right. I'm probably wrong. But that's just what I would do as a wrestling fan and a former wrestler; is try to be, look I think our show last night, it looked awesome."
- Taz discussing how he would run TNA if he was in charge backstage
Another person that has been gaining some power backstage in TNA is Taz. Aside from being the voice of Impact Wrestling, he also has been helping out with the creative department. Taz was also instrumental in the return of Tommy Dreamer to the front office.
