Hideo Itami

Sami Zayn out of action

It looks like Samoa Joe is coming into NXT at just the right time. Already, the promotion has lost Hideo Itami for several months because of a shoulder injury. Many were waiting to hear how long Sami Zayn was going to be on the sidelines as well. Reports have now surfaced that the former heavyweight champion will undergo surgery. The amount of time has yet to be revealed, but he will be off of television for at least the next month.

Goldust

Goldust shoulder surgery

It looks like we will not be seeing Goldust on the road with WWE over the summer months. He will be at home rehabbing from the shoulder surgery that he will be undergoing this week. He had an MRI earlier in the week to determine if it was something that he could work through. Dustin Rhodes also revealed that he could be out for as long as four months. Fortunately for the front office, the former Intercontinental Champion was not involved in a story.

Goldust

Goldust injures shoulder

Even though he has long maintained that he is not ready to retire as an active in ring performer for WWE just yet, Goldust may be forced into doing that because of some shoulder issues that he has been experiencing lately. It got bad enough to where he needed to go have an MRI to see how bad the damage is. If surgery is needed and a long rehabilitation process is required, then he might just opt to move to a front office position soon.

Matt Hardy

Jeff Hardy undergoes surgery

Considering how bad the injury is, Jeff Hardy underwent surgery today to repair a broken leg that was caused by a dirt bike accident. The situation has caused a bit of a headache for the creative department in TNA. He was one half of the tag team champions, so the stories will need to be modified. A decision has to be made on what to do with those championship belts. The belief is that Matt Hardy will be forced to vacate them.

Lilian Garcia injures knee

When it was initially reported that Lilian Garcia had suffered a knee injury, there were not a lot of details available. All we knew was that she needed surgery and was going to be taking a break from WWE for rehabilitation. The longtime announcer has now revealed that she was injured while packing her bags during an overseas tour last November. She tore her meniscus while standing up. Lilian also revealed that she will be back by June.

Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan being questioned

While everyone is definitely concerned about his health, many backstage in WWE are questioning Daniel Bryan for his decision to not undergo additional surgery to repair his neck. For whatever reasons, he has opted against doing that. Bryan recently stated that age could be catching up to him because he feels that it has taken him longer to get back into a groove this time around. He is still expected to work Extreme Rules, however.

Jey Uso

Jey Uso out six months

Some good news and bad news for the Usos. The good news is that Jey Uso successfully underwent surgery to repair a lot of injuries to his body. The bad news is that he is now required to miss approximately six months of action. That means that their involvement in the tag team division has to be halted. WWE might still use Jimmy Uso as a singles performer, but he will more than likely be relegated to working low profile matches.

Brock Lesnar

Michael Cole injured

To further sell the kayfabe injury suffered by Michael Cole at the hands of Brock Lesnar during Monday Night Raw, WWE has decided to keep the announcer off of the commentating table for the next episode of Smackdown. The on air explanation is that he needs surgery. Tom Phillips is replacing him and will join Jerry Lawler and Byron Saxton at the booth. No confirmation yet, but the belief is that Cole will be back for Monday Night Raw.

Kurt Angle

Daniel Bryan health

There is still a good amount of concern backstage for Daniel Bryan. Some people feel that his long term health is in jeopardy because he refuses to have the type of neck surgery that WWE would rather have him do. There are even those that are comparing the situation to what the front office had to deal with Kurt Angle several years back. A big push will be hard to come by if Bryan does not have the trust of management in his corner.
