John Cena

Justin Bieber at Summerslam

When Kevin Eck revealed that Justin Bieber was extremely interested in wrestling a match at Summerslam in 2014, he revealed the idea that was being thrown around backstage by the creative department. They wanted to do a six man tag team match, which would have enabled them to protect the untrained Bieber. He would have teamed with John Cena and Big Show. Their opponents would have been the very popular Wyatt Family.

Justin Bieber in WWE

A rather interesting thing was revealed through a blog post by Kevin Eck. The former member of the creative department revealed that Justin Bieber wanted to wrestle a match at Summerslam in 2014. WWE officials were intrigued by the idea because it would easily generate a ton of publicity with the mainstream media. However, there were those backstage that were concerned that the troubled singer might also be a detriment to their brand.

Brian Kendrick

Eva Marie at Summerslam

During a recent interview, Eva Marie might have provided a bit of a spoiler for Summerslam. She stated that she was going to be challenging for the Divas Championship at the pay per view. There is a distinct possibility of that happening because management has been more than pleased with her efforts to improve her in ring skills. Eva has been working out in California with Brian Kendrick, who is viewed as one of the better trainers around.

Triple H

Rousey vs Stephanie

When Ronda Rousey showed up at Summerslam, WWE knew that they wanted to put her in a match against Stephanie McMahon, as that would be one of the biggest draws for the company. However, Dana White is unlikely to allow a top level UFC draw to risk injury inside of a wrestling ring. That means that we will more than likely see Triple H and The Rock working a match where the two ladies would be in their respective corners.

Maria Menounos

Maria Menounos at Summerslam

When it comes to having celebrities being involved with their product, WWE absolutely loves it when Maria Menounos is available. Not only does she actually enjoy professional wrestling, but she also brings a good amount of mainstream media coverage. Management is hoping for her to be available for Summerslam, but reports have surfaced that she is either pregnant or trying to get pregnant, which might affect her availability.

Vince McMahon

Summerslam location

When the IZOD Center decided to shut down and go out of business, WWE lost their home for the next Summerslam. Vince McMahon and his staff went about looking for a new venue without much of a panic in their voice. The company knew that they wanted to keep the event in the New York and New Jersey area. The state of the art Barclays Center was heavily rumored as the obvious replacement, and that is now officially the case.

Brock Lesnar

Sheamus vs Brock Lesnar

While he is more than likely heading back to UFC, there is still a slight chance that Brock Lesnar sticks around and signs another contract with WWE because the money is simply too good to pass up for the amount of work that he is required to put in. The belief is that management would like to push Sheamus up to the point where a match against Lesnar could headline a pay per view such as Summerslam or the Survivor Series.

Summerslam moving

A minor headache has sprung up for Vince McMahon recently. There are reports going around that the IZOD Center, the former home of the New Jersey Nets, is on the verge of being shut down and demolished. That is a problem for WWE because that is the booked venue for the next Summerslam pay per view. Since we are several months away from the show taking place, the belief is that management will simply find a new location.
