Wrestlemania opening match

The opening match of a wrestling pay per view is really an interesting spot. Some view it as an honor, while others view it as degrading. WWE knows that the fans are hot at the beginning of the show, so they want to put together a great opening match at Wrestlemania. The idea right now is to start the event with a match between Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan. Both guys are massively popular, and the match will be one of the best of the evening.

Wade Barrett as CM Punk

During a podcast interview with Chris Jericho, the wildly underrated Wade Barrett revealed a canceled story line that might not have gone over very well with the audience. When WWE was in Chicago last year, they wanted to take a jab at the fans by having Barrett impersonate CM Punk, who had left the company. Management changed up the plans at the very last minute and do an alternate segment with Paul Heyman teasing the audience.

Lashley supports Punk

At one point in time, Bobby Lashley was hoping to follow Brock Lesnar and become the next WWE performer to make the jump over to UFC. That has yet to happen and appears very unlikely right now. Of course, that does not mean that he is bitter towards others who are attempting to make the move. During a recent Give Me Sports interview, Lashley expressed his support towards CM Punk. He also thinks that he will do rather well in MMA.

Rey Mysterio contract

For the next few weeks, everything in WWE will revolve around Wrestlemania. That will be the main topic of discussion backstage. Locker room morale might take a bit of a hit if the masked performer is forced to stay.

Smackdown announcers

Even though the change was made this month, there are already rumblings that we could be seeing another change in the form of the Smackdown announcers. Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler are safe in their positions, but there are rumors that WWE isn't completely sold on Byron Saxton just yet. Fortunately for him, there are people backstage who love his personality, so he will have some in his corner when push comes to shove.

Daniel Bryan push

Fans in the various arenas that the company visits and the internet wrestling community both agree that Daniel Bryan deserves a big push from WWE. Unfortunately, that does not appear to be in the works. Management is said to be leaning towards neglecting the public pleas because they simply do not feel that Bryan is the right guy as the face of the company. He will still be utilized high up on the card, however, but he will not be the lead.

TMZ picked up on the story and said that the hall of fame wrestler had disgraced himself. Other media outlets picked up on the story. In case you're not aware, this was all in fun and not serious.
