ROH leaves Destination America

In a move that was expected by many, Destination America has decided to drop ROH from their television lineup. The network experimented with professional wrestling, and it did not turn out as well as they had hoped because advertisers simply were not willing to pay big bucks for that particular demographic. Joe Koff announced that they were moving on to COMET, which is owned by Sinclair Broadcasting Group.

Sheamus and Barrett teaming up

The on screen relationship between Sheamus and Wade Barrett might be expanded on television soon. Rumor has it that WWE is considering a tag team consisting of those two real life friends. The Celtic Warrior attempted to help Barrett during his match against Chris Jericho at a live event in Mexico over the weekend. Management could be testing out the waters. Barrett has stated that he would like to join the tag team division.

Earlier in the week, Ric Flair and Eric Bischoff got together for a very interesting podcast interview. The two discussed a lot of things that took place in WCW. Though they didn't always get along back then, they understand one another better now. Flair revealed that the worst thing that Bischoff asked him to do when the president of the company was for Flair to put Konnan over on television, which is sure to spark a response soon.

An interesting name has surfaced as the potential mystery partner for Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns at Night of Champions. There is a small possibility that Chris Jericho could be given that role since his appearance would be quite a treat for the audience. Jericho has stayed in shape by working live events for WWE. He has long stated that he would do television or pay per view if it was something special.

Cyrus Fees will be joining Chael Sonnen. His background as an announcer is in MMA, so it will be quite interesting to see how he does in professional wrestling.

After he worked his historic match at Wrestlemania, Sting revealed to fans that he was open to making a return if WWE were to come up with something suitable. It looks like the two sides have it figured out now, as the former world heavyweight champion is reportedly going to be working Summerslam. He will appear on television prior to the pay per view to promote his involvement.

WWE in Italy

TNA wasn't the only wrestling promotion finalizing a new television deal in Italy this week. Vince McMahon did so as well. He has secured a contract that will enable WWE to keep broadcasting their programming in that country until the year 2020. The promotion has been with Sky Italia since 2003. The network stated that the business partnership between the two sides have been mutually beneficial and should continue on for years.

Since he has been playing pretty close to his chest when it comes to negotiations on a new television deal, a lot of fans are skeptical that Jeff Jarrett is going to be able to secure a spot for GFW. Well, reports have now surfaced that he has definitely been in negotiations with several networks. The list includes WGN, Fox Sports 2 and CMT. The most interesting network on that list is Spike, which recently allowed Impact Wrestling to leave.
