While most fans are rooting for Sting to eventually join the company, CM Punk has publicly stated that he does not want the legendary performer to join WWE because he feels that it would take the spotlight away from the younger wrestlers who are there full time. He also feels that Sting is well past his prime.
Impact Wrestling drew in one of the highest ratings that the show has seen in a couple of years this week. The belief is that WWE fans tuned in this week to see what would happen during the match between Sting and Brutus Magnus, as many are hoping that the legendary performer will end up at Wrestlemania 30 this year.
On screen, Sting lost the right to ever challenge for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship again. However, since tonight's event is a house show, the legendary WCW star will be facing Brutus Magnus for the belt as the headline match in Tennessee.
If WWE could finally put together a deal that will entice him to sign, Sting could possibly make his debut in the company by being the person to induct the Ultimate Warrior into the hall of fame during Wrestlemania 30 weekend. The two were tag team partners at the beginning of their careers.
