Things are still very much up in the air for Alex Riley right now. As many of you already know, he is quite upset with WWE for pulling the rug on his return to the ring at the Royal Rumble. However, a release from his contract has yet to be granted. Management also does not appear to have much interest in him returning full time as an in ring performer. His broadcasting duties have been relieved by the returning David Otunga already.

In a rather interesting bit of note, Curtis Axel has been on quite the losing streak. He has not had a televised victory since the beginning of November. It took place during a match against the recently released Justin Gabriel on the Main Event. He is still being utilized on a regular basis, both on television and at live events because WWE loves that he is a solid veteran performer who always shows up for work and puts on decent matches consistently.

They attempted to get Mike Tenay, but TNA turned that down because they do not want their employees to help out competing promotions. Jarrett and Ross then turned to Matt Striker, an underrated talker that was released from WWE back in June of 2013 when his contract expired.
