Wrestemania betting odds

Last minute changes have been made by the sports book. Brock Lesnar is now favored to retain the heavyweight championship against Roman Reigns, and the reason for that is because he signed a new contract with WWE. Triple H is now favored to defeat Sting in his Wrestlemania debut match. No word on why those particular odds did a complete shift, but the theory floating around is that it is because so many were betting on the WCW legend.

Roman Reigns winning

Despite the new contract signed by Brock Lesnar, the sports books are still listing Roman Reigns as the favorite to win the main event of Wrestlemania. Their belief is that WWE has already pulled the trigger on his superstar push, so they are just going to go through with it. The front office can always put the heavyweight championship belt back around the waist of Lesnar at a later date. Reigns is a -210 odd, while Lesnar is +160.

Paul Heyman to UFC

During a recent interview, Paul Heyman revealed an interesting tidbit about the contract that Brock Lesnar signed with WWE earlier in the week. He stated had the deal not been done, he would have left the company along with Lesnar. Heyman stated that his plan was to follow the heavyweight champion to UFC if he decided he wanted to continue his MMA career. Heyman also joked about following Lesnar to the NBA.

Kurt Angle contract details

Kurt Angle revealed an interesting detail about his contract during a recent interview with the MMA Hour. He stated that he was only required to work 40 dates a year for TNA. Since the company tapes approximately 50 episodes of Impact Wrestling each year, that means that the former world heavyweight champion is not actually required to work house shows. Angle could opt to do some of them if he wishes, however.

Punk and Lesnar in UFC

An interesting idea is being tossed around right now, and if implemented, it could shatter pay per view records for UFC. CM Punk is already in the promotion and training for his first fight. Brock Lesnar is finishing off his contract with WWE in a couple of weeks and has eyes on a return to mixed martial arts. If the promotion were to put the debut fight for Punk and the return fight for Lesnar on the same card, that would draw tremendous interest.

Hardy Boys tournament

A rather interesting omission from the upcoming tag team championship tournament in TNA is Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy. As of right now, the brothers have not been officially announced as entrants. From what we know, both guys are under contract to the promotion for at least another year, so that can be ruled out as a factor for their absence. Management could also be saving their announcement to build up the anticipation from the audience.

Sting backstage in WWE

Everyone already knows about the argument that Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar recently had while discussing business backstage at Monday Night Raw. That has caused a bit of headache for management. Sting, on the other hand, is said to be a model employee. He understands the contract that he signed with WWE, and he is more than content to fulfill his end of the bargain before fading away permanently from professional wrestling.

Bellas leaving WWE

A rather interesting story line is taking place this week on Total Divas. While meeting up with her boyfriend John Cena at a cafe, Nikki Bella discussed her future. She stated that her contract with WWE was set to expire soon. Management wants she and twin sister Brie Bella to sign another deal for three years. The sisters are not all that enthusiastic about committing that much time to wrestling. Cena told her to leave because she can find success elsewhere.

Samoa Joe gone

With Samoa Joe gone from the company, there is a bit of a void in TNA. Management reportedly already has a plan in place. With the money that they are saving by the expiration of his big money contract, they intend on investing in new talent. There are a lot of talented performers on the independent wrestling circuit that could be signed for a relatively cheaper price. The company could end up bringing in two or three new stars to develop.

Alex Riley release

Things are still very much up in the air for Alex Riley right now. As many of you already know, he is quite upset with WWE for pulling the rug on his return to the ring at the Royal Rumble. However, a release from his contract has yet to be granted. Management also does not appear to have much interest in him returning full time as an in ring performer. His broadcasting duties have been relieved by the returning David Otunga already.
