Since shock was rampant, the widespread belief among wrestling fans was that the ending of the Undertaker match at Wrestlemania 30 was a botch. Steve Austin
Earlier in the month, Steve Austin made a comment about WWE being too scripted for his taste. While those comments would surely bring backstage heat on one of their mid card performers, it is being said that there is absolutely no heat towards Austin, as management knows that they might need him for business down the line.

"I disagree with scripting. I think the nature of a promo has to come from your heart and your guts and you have to mean everything that you're saying. Now is the perfect time to go back to that formula. You learn to sink or swim. And guys and gals will start to learn to swim again. That's what's going to make the product feel more organic, more spontaneous and more real." - Steve Austin talks about WWE being too scripted

"Obviously this is going to be a big financial changer because you're not going to get all those buy rates. I've had a brief experience with the WWE Network. I signed up for it. I'm not a real gadget guy. I've had an iPad for damn near two years, but I hardly ever use it. I put the WWE Network on there, and I typed in certain matches, they didn't have certain things from NWA or WCW. So I've been going more to YouTube. I think they need a little bit more original content. I need to get on there more to familiarize myself with it. One of the things I've enjoyed is the old Garden stuff and from World Class (Championship Wrestling). I think it was smart to come out with the network. I think it's going to catch on more in the next two or three years, and that's when it will pay off." - Steve Austin shares his views on the WWE Network

"It's hard if you're quantifying raw numbers to say anyone was more popular at their zenith than Stone Cold Steve Austin. No one sold more merchandise, tickets or pay per view than Steve. The thing with Junkyard Dog was that he was the first African American number one baby face in a major territory. For black fans especially, he was such a groundbreaking force. There was a unique emotional relationship that JYD had with his audience. He gave a whole race their guy." - Jim Ross describes Junkyard Dog and his place in wrestling history

"Which one of these motherfuckers talked to god, and god said that same sex marriage was a no can do? Can you verify? Can you give me some 411 on that background? I've got some damn good friends that are gay. I'm absolutely for same sex marriage. I don't think that there is a god that says you cannot do this, you cannot do that. If two cats can't get married, but then a guy can go murder 14 people, molest 5 kids, then go to fucking prison and then accept god, he's going to let him into heaven. After the fact that he did all that shit? See, that's all horse shit to me. That don't jive with me." - Steve Austin on gay marriage
