Jim Ross is finalizing a deal to produce his own podcast show, and he's decided to call up a good buddy of his to help him out. Former WWE superstar Steve Austin is expected to be the first person that the long time commentator interviews on his show.
"Hulk Hogan left. Rock left. Steve Austin left. Shawn Michaels left. Theses were huge stars! Superstars come and go. The show must go on! You wait on the future.Don't over think my last Tweet. Human emotions are involved and they're always unpredictable. We should all be able to understand that."
- Road Dogg discusses the departure of CM Punk from WWE
"To see CM Punk, I just think that he was backed into a corner, he got a little frustrated and he took his ball and went home. I think one of two things will happen. I think Vince McMahon will fly out to Chicago or wherever he is, work some Jedi mind trick and convince him to come back, or maybe he will think through the process - and he's got a lot of years left in the tank - and never leave money on the table when you can go ahead and make that money."
- Steve Austin discussing the backstage heat situation in WWE
"I call dibs on GTS, Pepsi Plunge and running knee in corner. I am sure Sheamus will take the rest."
- Ryback mocking the departure of CM Punk from WWE
Batista won Royal Rumble 2014 by eliminating Roman Reigns in the end. Other contestants during the match were Alberto Del Rio, Alexander Rusev, Antonio Cesaro, Big E Langston, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, El Torito, Erick Rowan, Fandango, Goldust, Great Khali, Jack Swagger, JBL, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Kane, Kevin Nash, Kofi Kingston, Luke Harper, R Truth, Rey Mysterio, Ryback, Seth Rollins, Sheamus and the Miz.
"And I really wish Edge were still here. It killed me when I was out injured and he ended up having that final match with Alberto Del Rio. He was there while I was with the Nexus and he was just such a joy to be around. He's a good human being and just knew so much. He was always helping. Its guys like that that I wish were around still."
- Ryback on the retirement of Edge
Since a working relationship with the Ultimate Warrior has been reestablished, there are talks that WWE is trying to put him into a quick match at Wrestlemania 30. An opponent that has been discussed is none other than Ryback, a performer who has been in the dog house with management for quite a few months now.
Despite being one of its biggest stars of all time, Steve Austin has not come to an agreement with WWE on making an appearance at Wrestlemania 30 yet. The company has been heavily focused on signing Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior to a deal.
"There is no real comparison, that is like comparing a diamond and a chunk of coal. Vince McMahon is an absolute master, he is a brilliant man, you take a look at going up against WCW, Ted Turner and that whole organisation. Turner gave us all no cut contracts; Hulk Hogan, Brutus Beefcake, Bret Hart, and myself all went to WCW. Vince then took all the cast offs like Triple H and Steve Austin and turned them into global superstars and once again he was on top. You've got to give Vince credit, he is not your friend, if you want a friend go buy a puppy, Vince is your boss. He will use you and make you money but when the time is right he will flush you down the toilet and won't think twice about it, welcome to the real world."
- Jim Duggan on Eric Bischoff
"First of all, I want people to realize that it is hard to see all the old stars come back to Hall of Fame stuff and me not be included in all these things. I accomplished more than anyone in 2 years at WWF and I was part of one of the biggest match that started the attitude era with Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin. That match changed wrestling to what it is today. There is not a peep from anyone within WWE. I don't know why they won't give me a shot in the WWE and to challenge for the WWE title. I have reached out through many different types of media and the only thing I've heard back is that they're doing okay and don't need me. I say that if you're gonna be bringing people back from the attitude era and before that then I don't understand why you wouldn't bring me back. There seems to be a black mark against me and I don't understand it."
- Ken Shamrock on potential WWE return
Aside from being utilized to help promote Brock Lesnar, who works a limited schedule, there does not appear to be much of a story line for Paul Heyman backstage. After being split apart from Curtis Axel and Ryback, management hasn't shown an interest in adding new guys for the former ECW owner to work with.
WWE has been pushing the wrestlers to use Twitter more often, especially on weekends, in order to get the fans talking more about the performers and company. The belief is that management has noticed how much of a buzz Ryback has been able to create through the social media website.
"I'm a performer at heart and want to have the best performance. You just find a place in your mind where there's a trigger and you can go from being happy to emotional in a heartbeat if you're there and I was mentally there. I had so many people call about that. Arsenio Hall, Big Show and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin [reached out]. Austin said he smelled a rat. I was like, 'If you smelled a rat, it's in your house.' Nobody saw that coming. He was like, 'I've been around too long kid. I could smell a rat in a woodpile.'"
DeSean Jackson was recently robbed of $250,000 in cash and jewelry, so Steve Austin has offered him a helping hand. The former WWE star told the Philadelphia Eagles star to send him his personal information, and he will hook him up with a Fort Knox safe.
While the chances of it happening are extremely close to none because the two sides simply cannot come to an agreement on financial terms, WWE is still holding out a little bit of hope that they can sign Goldberg and have him wrestle Ryback at Wrestlemania 30.
During Monday Night Raw, Jerry Lawler made a comment about how Ryback isn't smart enough to know the two directions that an elevator can go. That prompted a respon from Ryback on Twitter, where the WWE star mentioned about Miss Kitty, Lawler's former wife.
After a series of interesting Tweets this week, Ryback has added another noteworthy one, when the often criticized WWE star mentioned that he was asked to induct the Ultimate Warrior into the hall of fame. The belief is that he is just joking around.
It appears that Ryback might have reached his boiling point with all of the online rumors regarding his situation in WWE. He has posted several messages on Twitter, most of which were deleted shortly afterwards, about his potential release from the company.
The latest wrestling legend to to find their way on to the Steve Austin podcast is Roddy Piper, who revealed that the two WWE legends really do not know one another all that well despite crossing paths a few times throughout their careers.
Ryback is now notorious for being a person that routinely deletes his posts on Twitter, as the WWE star has done so again after some peculiar messages were published on the social media website last night. He added some new posts on Sunday afternoon.
While management was not planning on giving him a big push or anything, there are some concerns that Curtis Axel is going to be held back by his tag team partner Ryback, who has secured himself a spot in the WWE dog house for a variety of reasons.
Ryback posted an interesting message on Twitter last night, where the WWE star stated that he was released. He then revealed that he was talking about being released by a police officer who had pulled him over, thinking that his GPS was a cell phone.
Steve Austin has publicly stated that he is willing to listen to offers from WWE for a show on their new network. The former world champion has done pretty well for himself in Hollywood, and he is not opposed to gaining more exposure through wrestling.
"A guy like Brock Lesnar, I believe we are very similar breeds as far as style and intensity. I think if you tagged us together, that's an unstoppable force that would never be beaten."
When Ryback was on commentary during Monday Night Raw this week, he made a peculiar comment about hanging out with Lilian Garcia when explaining his hoarse voice. It turns out that it was a jab within WWE towards the longtime announcer.
Since the two of them are in Las Vegas right now for the big WWE announcement tonight, Steve Austin has revealed that he will attempt to interview Triple H for his podcast show, which has already featured some of the biggest names in wrestling.
While he is accepting full responsibility for the incident in the ring, Ryback is receiving more backstage heat in WWE for giving Dolph Ziggler a concussion while taping a match before Monday Night Raw this week. He was already in trouble for other things.
