Jim Duggan was focused on professional football when he met the man that would bring him into the world of professional wrestling. While on a recruiting trip with Southern Methodist University, Duggan met the legendary Fritz Von Erich. After a knee injury ended his football career in the NFL, Duggan contacted Von Erich and joined WCCW.
