Late in 2014, rumors surfaced that Shelton Benjamin was going to make a return to WWE because the company filed for a trademark to his name. It turns out that it was simply for merchandising reason. Well, good news if you've been wanting Benjamin back in the United States. He has now been signed to a contract by GFW and should be a part of that summer tour. Jeff Jarrett has been building himself quite the roster.

During a podcast interview with Chris Jericho, Sheamus revealed that he had some backstage heat with Shelton Benjamin when he first started out in WWE. He stated that Benjamin had a weird fascination about pointing out how the Celtic Warrior was a rookie, even though he had worked in the industry for approximately seven years before joining the company. The Irish born wrestler stayed professional despite being bothered by it.

Shelton Benjamin returning to WWE

Rumors are floating around like crazy right now that Shelton Benjamin was going to be making a return to WWE. The speculation was fueled by the fact that the company has filed for trademark rights to his name. While a return has not been completely ruled out, the belief is that management applied for the trademark for merchandising reasons. Benjamin was recently asked on social media about a comeback, and he did not seem all that enthusiastic about the possibility.
