While the crowd reaction at Royal Rumble 2014 was noticed by management backstage, WWE does not appear to be changing their plans for Daniel Bryan. He is still penciled in for a match against Sheamus at Wrestlemania 30, and the program is expected to be started at Elimination Chamber 2014.
WWE is still juggling things around backstage, in an attempt to put together a solid card for Wrestlemania 30. Daniel Bryan is one of the most pivotal pieces of the puzzle, and several different scenarios have been discussed for him. The latest is to have him work a rematch against Sheamus.
With Brock Lesnar and Batista already confirmed for the event, there are rumors that Sheamus might not be making his return at the Royal Rumble. WWE wants him on the Wrestlemania card, so they do not want his return to be overshadowed.
There are talks now of having Sheamus working with the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Management originally wanted Brock Lesnar in the role, but they felt that Sheamus might be a safer choice because his style is not as physical as what Lesnar does.
Sheamus and Booker T were in attendance for the game between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, as WWE wanted to do a little promotion since Wrestlemania 31 will be held in the area.
When WWE NXT makes its debut on the WWE Network, management wants it to be viewed as a huge event. So, instead of just featuring developmental wrestlers, the company has booked Billy Gunn, Bret Hart, John Cena, Road Dogg, Shawn Michaels and Sheamus to make appearances throughout the night.
