Sheamus on Ninja Turtles

A new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is being made, and WWE fans will get to see a very familiar face. Sheamus has landed a role in the film, and he will be portraying a villain named Rocksteady. Photos of the former world heavyweight champion being on the set have surfaced on various mainstream media websites. The Celtic Warrior has long stated that he would love to transition to Hollywood once he is done as a wrestler.

Initially, WWE had planned on giving Sheamus a big heel push so that he could challenge Roman Reigns for the world heavyweight championship. However, those plans were scrapped, and we now have a heel champion in Seth Rollins. The front office knew that there was only so much they could push the Celtic Warrior before he hit the ceiling. Well, rumors are floating around now that they are going to give him the Intercontinental Championship to work with.

Sheamus new entrance

As many of you already saw on Monday Night Raw, Sheamus made his return to WWE this week. The front office gave him a little momentum boost by doing a heel turn. That is not the only change that we will see with the character. During the Smackdown taping, the former world heavyweight champion was given a new entrance theme song and a new entrance routine. For them to go through this much trouble, a push is obviously expected.

A lot of people are under the impression that Sheamus is going to be a mystery entrant into the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal at Wrestlemania. However, WWE has been telling fans that there are only going to be 20 contestants. Each of those spots have been filled. So now, the belief is that the former world heavyweight champion is going to be thrown into the ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship instead.

Some potentially good news for WWE in regards to the upcoming return of Sheamus. He was very well received when he made an appearance at a Wizard World convention in Winnepeg. A large amount of people reportedly waited in line to meet the former world heavyweight champion and take a photo with him. Management will view that as a sign that his popularity has not waned despite being on the sidelines for the past several months.

Reports have surfaced that management intends on giving him a big push, one that will see him become one of the top heels on the roster again. Management needs strong opponents to put over Roman Reigns, who is still expected to win the heavyweight championship at Wrestlemania. The Celtic Warrior would need to be built up first to fill tat role eventually.

Sheamus at Royal Rumble

Since he has been medically cleared to return and there is a big pay per view tonight that requires mystery entrants, the belief is that Sheamus will be making an appearance at the Royal Rumble. That might not be happening after all, as reports have surfaced that the former world heavyweight champion is actually still in Florida, where his main residence is. Of course, there is a chance he could fly into Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon.

WWE has had a change of heart with Sheamus and his impending return from an injury. Initially, the plan was to have him making his comeback on the next episode of Smackdown. For whatever reasons, management has decided to postpone things. The belief is that there are people in the company who are pushing for the former world heavyweight champion to make his return at the Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant instead.
