One of the reasons why WWE put the world heavyweight championship on Sheamus is because they want the fans to root for whoever he is up against. The Celtic Warrior does a pretty decent job of generating heel heat. Plus, a lot of fans aren't keen to the idea of him being in the top spot. Management has noticed that the reaction to Roman Reigns has been a bit warmer because of it.

When Sheamus cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase at Survivor Series and stole the WWE Heavyweight Championship away from Roman Reigns, fans complained that the Celtic Warrior did not have enough momentum for the role. However, it now appears that management purposely wants to cool off the MITB winner so that it would feel more like a surprise when they do get elevated into the top spot.

In case you missed the Survivor Series last night, Sheamus cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and captured the WWE Heavyweight Championship just shortly after Roman Reigns defeated Dean Ambrose in the tournament finals. Well, reports have now surfaced that the decision to do that was made just a couple of hours before the pay per view started. Management was still debating the idea all day long.

While doing a promotional appearance to promote the WWE tour of Europe, Sheamus revealed a rather interesting tidbit about his past. The former world heavyweight champion stated that he once prevented Nicky Byrne from entering a night club because he was underage. Over the weekend, Batista took to social media to remind us that he has a lot of issues with the creative department in WWE. This time, he took a jab when someone suggested that he make a return to the company to form a tag team with Sheamus. The former world heavyweight champion knows that he has a ton of leverage due to his new found status in Hollywood, so he has no qualms about being vocal.

WWE received some very good news last night when Sheamus showed up at the arena. The medical staff was able to clear him of a concussion. He had been having symptoms since the last episode of Monday Night Raw. That enabled the creative department to include him in the final segment with Randy Orton and Seth Rollins, which possibly sets up a world heavyweight championship match between the three at Summerslam.

There is a very good chance that John Cena might not heal quick enough to work Summerslam, so WWE has a couple of backup plans in place. The first one is simply to have Randy Orton challenging for the world heavyweight championship. If the front office does not feel that the match would be much of a draw, then there is a chance that they might add Sheamus and make it a triple threat.

While there has been no official confirmation of a concussion, word coming out of backstage is that Sheamus has been pulled from Monday Night Raw this week. The former world heavyweight champion has been replaced in the dark main event. There is a chance that he might still show up at the arena, however, to do some further medical testing.

While we know that he is injured, there has not been a lot of details on what is ailing Sheamus as of late. Rumors have surfaced that the former world heavyweight champion might have suffered a concussion or has concussion symptoms. WWE has been extremely careful with that particular injury, so there is a chance that the Celtic Warrior might miss television time this week.
