In the opening match at Payback, Sheamus defeated Dolph Ziggler via pin fall. The match started off strong, as the audience was rather lively for the two performers. Things went a bit awry when Ziggler went for a head butt and ended up being busted open the hard way. In what might have been an improve move ordered by management, the Celtic Warrior finished things off rather quickly by nailing his Brogue Kick finishing move.

Since Ireland is one of their stops during the tour of Europe, WWE made sure to bring a hometown hero to help sell the show. Finn Balor was brought along with the main roster. Since WWE wants to push Sheamus as a top level heel, they are going to need someone in the upper mid card division to put him over in his first pay per view back. The top candidate right now appears to be Dolph Ziggler. He is someone that is over with the audience and can make an opponent look better than usual. The two of them will more than likely square off in a match that is early on the Extreme Rules card. The setup should take place soon.
