WWE, however, still has plans for him at Battleground since it is in his hometown of St Louis. A last minute match against Sheamus is reportedly being discussed.

It appears that WWE is going back to the well again with Sheamus. After previously not being able to keep him in the main event scene, management is set to pull the trigger and make him the top star once more. As of right now, the plan is for the Celtic Warrior to win the heavyweight championship sometimes within the next twelve months.

In a rather shocking move, WWE decided to let Sheamus win the Money in the Bank. He battled with Adrian Neville at the top of the ladder before dispatching him and grabbing the briefcase. Many were under the impression that Roman Reigns was guaranteed the victory tonight.

Ryback wins IC title

Going into the Elimination Chamber, Sheamus was initially penciled in as the person that was scheduled to walk out of the enormous steel cage structure with the Intercontinental Championship in his hand. However, as a sign that WWE still continues to change up plans on a frequent basis, management opted to put the belt on Ryback for whatever reasons. A lot of people backstage have been impressed with the Big Guy as of late.

During a recent interview, Sheamus revealed that he held some resentment towards Shelton Benjamin because the latter kept calling the former a rookie when the two of them worked together back in 2009. Being the good person that he is, Benjamin took to social media to offer his sincerest apology. However, he also revealed that he does not recall using that term, which some in the industry find to be offense, whatsoever.

A new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is being made, and WWE fans will get to see a very familiar face. Sheamus has landed a role in the film, and he will be portraying a villain named Rocksteady. Photos of the former world heavyweight champion being on the set have surfaced on various mainstream media websites. The Celtic Warrior has long stated that he would love to transition to Hollywood once he is done as a wrestler.

Sheamus vs Ziggler at Payback

In the opening match at Payback, Sheamus defeated Dolph Ziggler via pin fall. The match started off strong, as the audience was rather lively for the two performers. Things went a bit awry when Ziggler went for a head butt and ended up being busted open the hard way. In what might have been an improve move ordered by management, the Celtic Warrior finished things off rather quickly by nailing his Brogue Kick finishing move.

For the longest time, Sheamus wanted really badly to work a Wrestlemania match against the Undertaker. He feels that the opportunity is now gone because his streak has been broken. The Celtic Warrior now wants to work a match against the man that broke that streak, and he wants it to happen at the biggest wrestling pay per view of the year. He stated during an interview that he hopes that WWE finally gives him a crack at Brock Lesnar.

Initially, WWE had planned on giving Sheamus a big heel push so that he could challenge Roman Reigns for the world heavyweight championship. However, those plans were scrapped, and we now have a heel champion in Seth Rollins. The front office knew that there was only so much they could push the Celtic Warrior before he hit the ceiling. Well, rumors are floating around now that they are going to give him the Intercontinental Championship to work with.

Sheamus tryout match

During a recent interview, Sheamus revealed some information on his tryout match with WWE. He admitted that they were awful. For whatever reasons, management opted to choose Dolph Ziggler as his opponent, even though Ziggler was a developmental wrestler himself. The Celtic Warrior stated that Finlay was the one that made the odd choice. He also stated that he was hoping to receive more advice than he was being given at the time.
