Daniel Bryan was unable to overcome the odds, as the former WWE Champion was defeated by Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan in a handicap match at TLC. Wyatt got the pin fall victory after nailing his Sister Abigail finishing move.

In a no disqualification match at TLC, Kofi Kingston defeated the Miz via pin fall after hitting the Trouble in Paradise finisher. Miz had exposed the turnbuckle, but it ended up backfiring on him. Not a lot of interest from the audience.

Years before the Bret Hart screwjob in Montreal, Vince McMahon pulled the same trick on Wendi Richter. Since she would not sign a new contract with the company, McMahon wanted to take the belt off of her, so instead of telling her about it, the future WWE CEO opted to put the Fabulous Moolah in a mask. Along with the referee, Moolah changed the ending and took the belt off of Richter, whom the legendary performer trained.
