Over the weekend, Jake Roberts worked an independent wrestling show in Maryland, where the legendary WWE performer was victorious in a six man tag team match. The move comes as a bit of a surprise, as many expected him to cancel out on the appearance because he recently underwent surgery to determine what type of cancer that he has.

The former world heavyweight championship actually had to pull out of TNA Lockdown 2014 in order to get his leg repaired. Angle has revealed that the recovery is going well, and the belief is that he should be back on the road with TNA in April.

Since Kurt Angle is now injured and requires surgery, the match against Ethan Carter at TNA Lockdown 2014 has been canceled. However, Carter has now confirmed through Twitter that he will indeed be working the pay per view still. No word on who the replacement opponent may be at this time. An impromptu match with Eric Young is a possibility.

Initially, management had set up a match between Kurt Angle and Ethan Carter at TNA Lockdown 2014 in order to help the younger performer establish some much needed credibility. Unfortunately, though, Angle is going in for surgery, and the match has been canceled. No word yet on whether or not Carter will be given a replacement opponent.

A couple of weeks ago, Shelton Benjamin revealed to fans on Twitter that he was a fast healer. Well, he was not kidding. Benjamin has just announced that he is heading back overseas to do a tour for New Japan. He is leaving the United States some time next week. The former WWE star had surgery back in January for an injured elbow.

Details are being leaked about the surgery that Jake Roberts had earlier this week to remove cancer from his knee. The operation itself lasted approximately five hours. Doctors are concerned because they are not quite sure what type of cancer it is. However, they do believe that they were able to remove it during the early stages.

WWE is now reporting that Naomi Knight does not need surgery for her eye injury, which was suffered during a match against Aksana on Monday Night Raw a couple of weeks ago.
