While doing an interview with The Independent, Dean Ambrose specifically mentioned that he would love to wrestle a match against Samoa Joe, as that would be something new for his character. Ambrose stated that since he has been around WWE for a while now, he has worked with just about everyone on the main roster. There are currently no plans in place for Joe to be elevated to the main roster any time soon, unfortunately.

For years, the internet wrestling community has bashed TNA for signing former WWE stars. Through an interview with the Associated Press, Dixie Carter noted that the roles have now been reversed, as World Wrestling Entertainment has been seeking out her performers now. Samoa Joe and James Storm, who came back to Impact Wrestling this week, are two recent examples.

The former Intercontinental Champion showered Balor, who currently carries the heavyweight championship in the developmental brand, with quite a bit of praise, noting that Finn brings his best night in and night out.

Since he has lost a lot of momentum, WWE is considering the possibility of a heel turn for Samoa Joe. The feeling is that an NXT Heavyweight Championship match between two heels is not going to be as much of a draw, even though both performers are among the best in the world. Joe might only be a heel on a temporary basis because the front office thinks he can be a face on the main roster.

Apollo Crews challenging for title

Those rumors about WWE giving Apollo Crews a major push turned out to be true after all. The developmental wrestler has now been named the number one contender to the NXT Championship currently held by Finn Balor. Crews leapfrogged over several other performers, including Tyler Breeze and Samoa Joe, to get that highly coveted spot. The belief is that there is a very good chance of him winning the championship soon.

In an expected move, Samoa Joe has challenged Finn Balor for the NXT Heavyweight Championship. Balor accepted the challenge, but WWE opted to not grant that to Joe. Instead, they want to give him a little more momentum by having him win a battle royal next week to earn the shot. A couple of other contenders are expected to be added to the match, but the belief is that Joe is almost a lock to win.

Since he has not been with the company for too long, a lot of fans were disappointed that Samoa Joe was not going to be in WWE 2K16. However, the producers of the video game have rectified that situation by creating a downloadable version of his character. The former world heavyweight champion is one of five characters that will be included in the Future Stars Pack, which is available for $7.99.

Homicide revealed a very interesting thing during a recent interview. Had it worked out, it might have been one of the most hyped wrestling things outside of WWE. He stated that he, Samoa Joe, MVP and Low Ki were hoping to make the Beat Down Crew popular enough to convince New Japan to bring them in for a program with the Bullet Club. Unfortunately, though, things did not work out as planned.
