On Friday night, Finn Balor worked the main event of an NXT show in Nashville, Tennessee. The heavyweight champion was given a victory over Samoa Joe. Unfortunately, though, the former leader of the Bullet Club injured his leg during the match. Balor was spotted hobbling backstage and had to use crutch in order to leave the arena. Finn and the rest of the developmental brand are expected to work a show in Indianapolis tonight.

When asked about which performers in NXT that he would love to wrestle on the main roster in WWE, Ryback mentioned Sami Zayn and Samoa Joe but really focused on Finn Balor. Instead, they want to give him a little more momentum by having him win a battle royal next week to earn the shot. A couple of other contenders are expected to be added to the match, but the belief is that Joe is almost a lock to win.

When it was revealed earlier that Samoa Joe had impressed WWE so much that they offered him a full time contract, the internet wrestling community began to wonder if that meant that he was going to be placed on the main roster immediately. Fans are going to have to wait a couple of months, as management needs the former world heavyweight champion to be the focal point of NXT, as star power on the developmental roster has dwindled a bit.
