Samoa Joe challenges Balor

In an expected move, Samoa Joe has challenged Finn Balor for the NXT Heavyweight Championship. Balor accepted the challenge, but WWE opted to not grant that to Joe. Instead, they want to give him a little more momentum by having him win a battle royal next week to earn the shot. A couple of other contenders are expected to be added to the match, but the belief is that Joe is almost a lock to win.

Samoa Joe in WWE 2K16

Since he has not been with the company for too long, a lot of fans were disappointed that Samoa Joe was not going to be in WWE 2K16. However, the producers of the video game have rectified that situation by creating a downloadable version of his character. The former world heavyweight champion is one of five characters that will be included in the Future Stars Pack, which is available for $7.99.

BDC vs Bullet Club

Homicide revealed a very interesting thing during a recent interview. Had it worked out, it might have been one of the most hyped wrestling things outside of WWE. He stated that he, Samoa Joe, MVP and Low Ki were hoping to make the Beat Down Crew popular enough to convince New Japan to bring them in for a program with the Bullet Club. Unfortunately, though, things did not work out as planned.

Performers like Samoa Joe, Finn Balor and Bayley are going to be among the biggest reasons why fans attend Takeover events and the upcoming NXT tour of England. Rumors have been floating around that the developmental performers do not get rewarded for the recent success, and now, it appears that an official meeting was held to inform the performers that they will not be paid any extra money for their work.

Samoa Joe challenging Balor

Rumors have it that one of the ideas being floated around backstage in WWE is for Samoa Joe and Finn Balor to successfully win the Dusty Rhodes memorial tournament. That would then lead to Joe somehow challenging Balor for the NXT Championship in a friendly feud. That particular match would more than likely be the biggest draw for the developmental promotion at this point in time.

Breeze vs Liger

Since he did such a good job during the first match, NXT officials are thinking about having Tyler Breeze as the primary opponent for Jushin Liger, who recently signed a new contract with WWE that will see him working additional dates. Finn Balor and Samoa Joe are two other potential candidates to work against the legend from Japan. Main roster guys such as Adrian Neville could be brought down for a match as well.

Finn Balor and Samoa Joe team up

As some of you may already know, WWE is honoring Dusty Rhodes by doing a memorial tag team tournament. The first match has been announced, and it is considered a dream pairing for a lot of wrestling fans. Samoa Joe and Finn Balor have formed a tag team in hopes of winning the tournament to honor the American Dream. They will be facing the Lucha Dragons in the first round.

For those of you that are wondering, Samoa Joe is still not done with his outside commitments in professional wrestling. This week, he is in the United Kingdom for a couple of appearances. No word yet on if he is going to miss any television time with WWE. Some are under the belief that management isn't pushing him hard until he wraps everything up.

After creating quite a buzz with his debut in NXT, Samoa Joe has been a bit quiet lately. A big reason for that is because Kevin Owens was promoted to the main roster in WWE. The belief is that Joe will be moved into a title program with Finn Balor soon, as the two of them have been headlining live events together recently. That could be the setup for television.

Bret Hart blames Samoa Joe

Since management believed it to be a freak accident, there is no backstage heat on Samoa Joe for the neck injury that Tyson Kidd suffered. Bret Hart, however, has a different opinion. He stated that Joe is doing a finishing maneuver that is far too dangerous. Hart is also hoping that the Muscle Buster does not end up costing Kidd his career.
