Rumors spread on Thursday that Samoa Joe met with WWE officials to negotiate a developmental contract. It is now looking more and more likely that it did happen, as Jim Ross himself has confirmed that he saw Joe earlier in the day. Ross is in Orlando, where the performance center happens to be, to tape a show with Mick Foley for the Network. The belief is that Joe will sign a deal and start with NXT around June of 2015.

When Samoa Joe made a guest appearance at the one man show held by Jim Ross, he told the audience that he had no issues with going through NXT to get to the main roster in WWE. Some have criticized him for giving a political answer. That did not sit well with Ross, who made it a point to respond online. He stated that Joe was simply being a smart business man who understands what it is to be a team player as well.

Walemania was the place to be this week if you were hoping to see a lot of wrestlers in the same place. Rey Mysterio made his first public appearance since the tragic Perro Aguayo incident. His buddy Konnan was there with him. The two of them were heavily advertised to be there. Three guys who were not scheduled to be there were Scott Hall, MVP and Samoa Joe, who all decided to simply pop up at the event and party with one another.

For years now, WWE has largely neglected Samoa Joe. Now, rumors have it that he is finally joining the company. The reason for the change is a simple one. Triple H is now calling some of the shots. He is the one that expressed interest in bringing Joe on board. Kevin Dunn and Vince McMahon are still not sold on the former TNA star being able to be an asset on the main roster, but HHH is going to try to convince them otherwise.
