Hoping to become a more active touring company in 2016 so that NXT can finally become profitable, Triple H has booked his developmental crew for a tour of the midwest. In January, the promotion will be making their debuts in Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit and Green Bay. They will also be doing another stop in Pittsburgh. Names being advertised are Apollo Crews, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor and Bayley.

Rumors have it that one of the ideas being floated around backstage in WWE is for Samoa Joe and Finn Balor to successfully win the Dusty Rhodes memorial tournament. That would then lead to Joe somehow challenging Balor for the NXT Championship in a friendly feud. That particular match would more than likely be the biggest draw for the developmental promotion at this point in time.

Even though he is signed to a contract with WWE now, Samoa Joe is scheduled to make a return to ROH and work a television taping. Of course, that deal has now been complicated because Ring of Honor has now been picked up by Destination America, which means that the promotion can now be seen in every state. World Wrestling Entertainment generally has a policy against performers being used on TV elsewhere.

It looks like Samoa Joe is coming into NXT at just the right time. Already, the promotion has lost Hideo Itami for several months because of a shoulder injury. Many were waiting to hear how long Sami Zayn was going to be on the sidelines as well. Reports have now surfaced that the former heavyweight champion will undergo surgery. The amount of time has yet to be revealed, but he will be off of television for at least the next month.

Developmental wrestlers in WWE generally do not get paid a lot of money, and that was one of the things that caused Samoa Joe to be hesitant about signing a contract with the company. In order to get the deal done, management opted to give him a contract that might help them secure more of the top performers on the independent scene. Joe is being allowed to work for other promotions, provided that he does not appear on television.

Professional wrestling fans have been ecstatic over the rumors that Samoa Joe is going to finally join NXT. That might no longer be the case, as the former world heavyweight champion has signed on for an event with Northeast Wrestling in August. He would not have done that if he was on the verge of signing a contract with WWE because the promotion does not usually allow their performers to work for another company.

There are now rumors floating around that Samoa Joe might end up choosing to not sign with WWE after all. The speculations have been fueled by the fact that he has repeatedly stated that CM Punk wants to work another match with him. Since Punk is highly unlikely to ever return to the promotion, the match would have to take place elsewhere. It is also very odd for Joe to keep bringing this up since Punk is so focused on a UFC career.

If you are a TNA fan that is sentimental about Samoa Joe leaving the company, you are going to want to tune in to Impact Wrestling on March 20. That night will showcase his final match in the promotion. Fortunately for those that love great in ring action, Joe was paired with Austin Aries in that match, which was filmed when the company was doing a tour of England earlier in the year. No word yet on how he will be written off of television.

The internet wrestling community reacted very negatively upon hearing the news that Samoa Joe was leaving TNA. Apparently, the same is true of the locker room. Reports have surfaced that the majority of people backstage are upset that the former world heavyweight champion is leaving the promotion. Joe was very well liked backstage by his peers, and some even viewed him as a locker room leader. His departure has affected morale a bit.
