Professional wrestling fans have been ecstatic over the rumors that Samoa Joe is going to finally join NXT. That might no longer be the case, as the former world heavyweight champion has signed on for an event with Northeast Wrestling in August. He would not have done that if he was on the verge of signing a contract with WWE because the promotion does not usually allow their performers to work for another company.

If you are a TNA fan that is sentimental about Samoa Joe leaving the company, you are going to want to tune in to Impact Wrestling on March 20. That night will showcase his final match in the promotion. Fortunately for those that love great in ring action, Joe was paired with Austin Aries in that match, which was filmed when the company was doing a tour of England earlier in the year. No word yet on how he will be written off of television.

Since ROH has managed to bring in Alberto Del Rio and Samoa Joe, a lot of fans are under the assumption that their financial issues are over. That is not the case whatsoever. The company was able to sign those guys because they are short term contracts. While it does cost a pretty penny to get big name guys under contract, Ring of Honor is willing to take the risk to bring in revenue. It is being said that long term deals were never discussed.

Based on a vague exchange between the two on social media, a lot of fans are under the belief that Samoa Joe and CM Punk are going to be working a wrestling match against one another in the near future. They are no longer with TNA and WWE respectively. However, the odds of that happening are quite slim. Punk is under contract with UFC, and it is highly unlikely that Dana White would allow one of his fighters to be involved in a wrestling match.

Earlier this week, we learned that Samoa Joe and TNA had decided to part ways after almost a decade together. Speculations began almost immediately about his future. While he has yet to announce his plans, the widespread belief is that the former world heavyweight champion is going to include a tour of New Japan to his itinerary. Joe is a big fan of the country, and the scene over there is pretty hot right now. It would be a nice change of pace for him.
